Widener Comparison Chart

I hope you guys find this usefull. When I was first looking for wideners I wish I had something like this for referance :)

http://www.photoshopist.com/Images/r...ks/widener.jpg

I used photoshop to line up all the axles and make them all the same size so its pretty accurate.

If you have other wideners on your TLT axles please send me a pics similar to those above and I can add to it!!

Thanks!
Brandon :)

EDIT: Posted this in the sticky TECH thread, but I would like to keep this one also for any comments.

FritoBandito 06-24-2005 12:01 AM

That's pretty good. You want me to get you a pic of my Blackfoot stub axle equipped axle?

Brandon 06-24-2005 12:04 AM

Ya that would be great!

Here is my email for the pics: brandon@photoshopist.com

gregrocks90046 06-24-2005 01:07 AM

Pic on the way!

Inet isn't planning on making their wideners for quite some time, I guess they're really low on their priority list.

I ended up purchasing a set of the Tobee Craft 32mm ones off ebay, should be getting them soon. If interested, I'll snap a photo once I get them on.

Please do, that would be great! I have to say that the Tobee crafts are much nicer than the Inets in my opinion, you wont be dissapointed with those!!

They are made by PRP they are excellent for strengthening the axles, but sorta get in the way when crawling so I use them on my basher/sand truck :)

Brandon 06-24-2005 06:03 PM

Blackfoot axles added. Thanks Frito! Looks like they are just shy of the 16mm tobee craft's but the threads are much longer which would be great for the stampede wheels.

Thanks again.

FritoBandito 06-24-2005 06:43 PM

I don't think the Blackfoot threads are any wider than stock. They just look that way because I didn't have the hexes on there. I have my three piece wheels so I only use the pins and didn't think to put the hexes on for the pic. :(

Brandon 06-25-2005 11:20 AM

Hmm ya it probably just looked that way bc there are no hexes like you said.

Has anybody tried the wideners by Gmade?? Check them out http://gmade.net/skin/gmade/goods/pr...e=030000012286

Rock Crawler Boy 06-25-2005 11:28 AM

How wide does that make your tlt, at the moment mine is 10 inches wide but i would like to get some extra

Brandon 06-25-2005 11:37 AM

Well the tobee crafts widen the truck by 16mm & 24mm as pictured. So 10 inchs plus that, if you go with the inets it will be even more, probably around 11 1/4"

Brandon 07-06-2005 10:27 PM

Just added the tobee craft 32mm wideners! Thanks Joe Mauma

G-made widner is 2" wider than in normal..

i fill up satisfaction...

but one modify,,,

5mm With it widens the hole of the wheel and must give.

Brandon 07-07-2005 08:30 AM

Hmm I thought it was only 1" wider total, not each side. But I may be wrong. And I think that if you have 2.2" tires and wheels you might not have to make the whole bigger. Somebody needs to try them!!

bobnom 07-07-2005 10:08 AM

oh...you miss one thing,,

Knytemare 07-07-2005 08:54 PM

Magic 07-08-2005 10:02 AM

how can i get a set of tobee craft 32mm wideners? i would like to try them out.

Brandon 07-08-2005 10:11 AM

I emailed the main guy who sells them on ebay last week, he replied the other day and said that tobee craft is out of stock, he has no idea... I want some too :) If I find some I will let you know.

Keep an eye on this ebay store. He was out of stock of the 32mm ones for a while, then a couple sets just popped up on his site about two weeks ago so I snagged one.

http://search.stores.ebay.com/search...&fsoo=2&fsop=3

I'm impressed by the quality of them. From the photos I thought they'd be ghetto, but upon opening the package and installing them I was pleased with what I had purchased.

So is anybody running these? it said you might have to make the hole in the rim bigger and it adds 1" to your stance sounds like an easy fix.

Brandon 07-08-2005 01:22 PM

Im going to get them as soon as I have the money :) just need to sell a truck first...

Magic 07-13-2005 08:19 PM

i dont have pics yet, hopefully in a day. i am useing the hpi super nirto rims with masher 2000s. the rim is a 2.2 but only 1 3/8" wide. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/WTI0001P?&I=LXMX93

they work great.

You mounted mashers on those... I have to see that, arent the grooves too small for the tire?

Madkoifish 07-14-2005 12:33 AM

LoL they do if you grind off the inner ring. Seriously didnt think of that to do narrow rims >_<

ifusing pede wheels you'll notice they are "thick" so the locknut dooesn't catch enough threads

try the hex's for a tc3 touring car, much thinner than the tamiya hex's

Reef 06-13-2006 03:27 PM

I ordered the Inet ones last Friday and got them Monday morning.
I love fast service...
Wideners look great too.

trevor217 06-27-2006 02:07 PM
