TLT worth putting money into?

since thay have been discontinued will it be worth it to put 200-300$ into mine? i dont wanna turn around and be stuck with a truck i cant get parts for latter on if somthing breaks..:? just kinda torn since i just bought this thing a day or two ago

You shouldn't have any problem getting TLT axle parts for some time to come. The TLT kit is discontinued, not the axle parts.
I wouldn't worry about it.

there are plenty of aftermarket parts available from various online stores

drumbeater 04-12-2008 09:02 AM

Just check with the vendors here on RCC. Most of them have all the parts to rebuild the axles.

I would definatly say they are worth it. First off you could state your plans. Most go with a diffrent chassis anyway with aftermarket links etc. The axles are very easy to get parts for too.

I would do some reading on here 1st. Don't go off looks.
IMO the Tracer doesn't make a very good crawler. There are much better choices out there.

well any thing is better then what i have now its the stock chassis with longer links making it 12.5wb..it rubs on every thing and gets stuck..also stock shocks

So why not a better aftermarket chassis then the Tracer?

0001 04-12-2008 11:31 AM

well the only reason i was doing the tracer is that it came with every thing..didnt have to buy little parts and plus my links are pretty beat up so i thought i'd just spend 100 for that kit that came with every thing..but if i can get a better after market chassis for about the same i'll do it.

You can get the axial chassis for about 40 bux and I'm sure all the links etc won't cost 60. Maybe even a pede trans too with that 100.00

make sure to get bearings, cvd's, and alluminum axle c's or you will be kicking yourself like i am. I have broke 4 axle shafts and an axle casing in the last couple of months so dont go cheap because you'll end up paying the money in replacement parts anyways.

I'm runnin a novak 55 with an R2 and 4200. super rooster ESC. That thing has enough torque to pull stumps(and break axles obviously)
