| quick question about RCP rear lockout
I'm putting together my rear tlt axle using RCP's rear lockout and RC4WD straight axles. Are you supposed to put both the inner and out bearings that were in the knuckle in the lockout adapter? After looking at it. I think all you need is the outer bearing. Am I thinking right? Plus there is no real way to keep the inner bearing seated where it is supposed to be. Thanks Bryan |

That is correct. No need for both bearings with the solid axles. If you use the 2 piece axles you need the 2nd bearing.

Are there any real disadvantages to staying with the 2 piece axles? That's the route I went and so far it seems to be working fine.

Yes the stock axle shafts are weak i dont know how many axle shafts i have broken. the last time i broke an axle shaft i snaped two stock shafts. then i went with the straight axles from rc4wd. no problems yet.

The only disadvantage to the straight axle shafts is they can bend..but can be bent back without breaking. CVDs in the rear to me seems like an uneccessary joint in the drivetrain, plus they cost twice the SS axles. Though they can be argued to be stronger than SS shafts, I have high doubts I will ever twist one off Never tried the stockers and dont plan to |

| I did the same. When my fronts were stock, my rears were stock. Now I have cvd's in both. Less spare parts to worry about imo. If I break a front, I can use the same part as if I break a rear.
