| Duke's Banana build
Managed to pry a Top Banana chassis away from Del Monte at the last comp in a futile effort to unlock his driving secrets. Nice work on the chassis Jake very clean. Thanks to the quick turnaround in parts from RCP the work begins. RCP straight axle adapter RCP super max clearence knuckles RC4wd SS straight axle Fat Rock axle C's EZ Design's axle truss Mini LST shocks AX-10 tranny w/ VF dig Hacker brushless motor Vanquish Revovler wheels Mamba Max 5955 TG steering servo Custom delrin lower links Custom carbon uppers Excaliber 3c lipo Custom MikeyMike grappler lid Panther tires On the rack startin to put my links together. Decided to try mini lst shocks this time around, put some du bro ball ends on them to get the extra length I needed. Time for tranny installation. Lots of work left. Finish the upper links get some delrin lowers. Almost forgot how fun new builds are. Last edited by raul duke; 05-16-2008 at 11:01 AM. |

Nice!! I was just looking at some mlst shocks today and thinking they would look great on the Banana. I would drop your upper links down to the bottom set of holes in the rear though... I can't wait to see how it turns out Last edited by Del Monte; 05-02-2008 at 07:04 PM. |

Got a little more work done. Finished the upper links still need to get the lowers done, gonna try delrin strights in the front and bents in the rear. Got the VF dig workin pretty good, had to run the link on the inside of the servo arm to get it to work smooth. The hardest part so far was stuffin all my electrics into that tiny chassis. I decided I would try out the M3 badlands since I got a killer deal on them. Super easy to mount on the VP revolvers as I think any tire would, again great wheel. A few test laps around the house reminded me why I did not like the Crawlmaster motor. Think I may have to give the Revolver Black a go. That, get a new body that I will hack the crap out of and stick a better servo up front and this truck a winner, well at least a runner. Last edited by raul duke; 05-04-2008 at 08:55 PM. |

| crawlmaster Do you think the crawlmaster has any more power than the revolver? Im buildin a banana in the axial thread. I havent got the revolver quite dialed in with the mamaba 25 but it doesnt seem to have as much power as my 55t did. Thanks.

Took it out a couple days ago for some testing. I am really enjoying the low cog, climbs very well. Need to play with springs, oil and weight to get a better all around combo. Overall I am pleased with the performance. Some testing pics. The VP wheels held their own. There was concern of the scalloped edges of the rings catching on stuf but I did not experience any. More to come as the parts flow in. |

The more this build comes together the more I like it. Got the electrics all sorted and cleaned up. Went with the Mamba max,3c lipo and a Hacker motor Quattros turned me onto way back when, it's rated at 1060kv and has a good amount of torque to it. A lot more power than I had on the SW3. Still waiting for my delrin links so I took matters into my own hands, not to hard after all. A little flex shot. After a little trail and error I think these little mini Lst shocks are gonna work out fine. Finally got to run a pack worth and it performs as well if not better than my SW3 comp rig. This rig is almost the opposite of the SW3, lower cog(body height is 1.25" lower), narrow stance(.50" narrower) and twice the weight. Can't wait to rock my new custom lid and try out those new Panther tires. I may decide to run her in the SoCal series final, we will see. |

You've got a great looking truck there. I want to get a set of thoose wheels just for the box they come in. Hows the VF working for you I'm thinking of getting one for my black jack.
