Question Which Tranny for Rock Racer TLT, AX10 or CR-01?

I am in the starting process of making my first TLT build ...custom chassis,Traxxas steel yolks and shafts,Cobalt 6t,3c Lipo,CR-01 tires,Junfac GT 2.2 beadlocks etc

The CR-01 tranny looks like will cost me about $50 (with skid plate I think)
and the AX10 tranny $40 from TCS

main concern now is the motor position ,the closer to the center of the tranny the better since I have a big Cobalt to fit in the standard TLT spaced twin chassis.

This will be a vital decision on my build ...another point is that Tamiya is cheaper (here in Japan) and parts grow on trees...

Your advice will be gravely appreciated !!!!!!!!

I have tried several trannys and like the Axial the best. It seems to be very heavy duty stock and already there are metal gears and cases available for it. My vote is also for the axial. I posted some pictures on one18th.com of my latest truck. I don't know how to post it on here or I would. Here is the link. http://www.one18th.com/GetGallery17201.htm

I say go with the AX-Trany and add a slipper clutch to it. Your building a RR and more than likely it will be getting airborne and with a Cobalt motor, the slipper is just to help keep things in one piece when it lands at WOT!
