Default A rare vehicle (56K warned)

I figured I should post this up in case there's somebody lurking around here who still uses the stock chassis. And it really is rare.

Specs:
-TLT axles
-Tamiya Carbon Frame
-Junfac 12" stretch kit
-GMade wideners
-Moabs
-Integy lathe 55T
-Futaba S3305 servo
-Topcad aluminum spur hub

And what thread is complete without pictures?

It actually performs better than one would expect. The carbon chassis helps a good deal, along with the lead weights. To anyone else running a TLT tranny, an aluminum spur hub is a good thing to get, because it reduces spur gear wobbling significantly. About the Junfac stretch kit, you have to put pieces of fuel tubing/foam/whatever in the outdrives of the differential to space them properly. Otherwise, they can hit the outdrives and limit suspension travel.
I'd say it's a success for spending around 150$ on it.
P.S. Sorry for poor pictures, still a bit new to photography.

Nice... I still have the original chassis Max Climber. I have cut the chassis down, made my own 4 link suspension, am running Maxx shocks, Moabs... but I'm still using the TLT Belt drive.

I stopped working on it when I got the AX-10, but just last night I started playing around with a droop suspension on it. Just cobbed together with no oil in the shocks it still performed as well as the Scorpion. I was shocked... and now I am going to put some effort into the build.

With a 55T motor and the stock drive... it is about the perfect combination of crawlability and wheel speed!

What I'd like to do is take it to a comp to see if old school can still hang...

Cool that it was able to compete with the Axial. Any pictures? And what gearing are you running? I'm using a 15 tooth pinion and 96 tooth spur.

How do the max shocks work? I'm a bit tired of the stock ones.

Not sure about the tooth count. I'll check later. It's torn down but I'll post some pics tonight. The Maxx shocks are perfect either sprung or droop. I used the red springs in back and the black springs in front. That helped get rid of twist.
