Well this is my first 2.2 and shafty. My other crawler in a clod based super. Parts used: stock tlt axles vf slingshot chassis vf dig unit axial tranny tcs bm9 motor mamba maxx t.p 995 steering servo first gen. maxx outputs & joints / second gen. shafts Jato shocks revo ends on lower links / tlt uppers custom derlin steering links duratrax pro st wheels narrowed w/ moabs So far I like the brushless motor, good torque and decent wheel speed....for being geared 84/20. I don't care for the droop setup as is...too slow. I want to make some new derlin straight uppers and mabey mount them in the stock position, but with more vert. separation. I also need to fix one of my hack outputs on the pinion... I still need to get a servo for the dig and a 3+ channel radio, I'm leaning towards a dx6i for use on other vehicles too. As for the battery I have a nice small 3s lipo, but not definite on using that...otherwise some handbuilt pack from nimh or lith-ions. temp battery for testing.. I picked up a xc-1 body and painted it up with my dominatrix girl. I also picked up a dx6i, cc bec, junfac wideners and some zippy 3s 20c 1500 packs. All that is left is my mayhem dp's that should be coming this week and mounting up a set of cougers and nwt hybrid reaches I have waiting to go on. Last edited by bent70; 07-13-2008 at 09:18 PM. |

Right on....I broke in the body today apparently she could take a beating.. I can't wait for the rims, I have broken these 5 or so times and I didn't bother gluing the tires on so you know how that goes every 2 min. Especially with the 3s:-P I am running the throttle on the elevator channel and the steering on the rudder, so that is taking a little bit to get used to. I catch myself steering and trying to do the throttle with my left hand quite a bit. I think I got the dig down pretty good now too. My only other problem is the wheel tube nuts keep loosing up even with lock washers, so I guess when I put the mayhems on I will toss on some locktite. |
