Default My baby toyota project (ton O pics)

I started on my Tamiya Bruiser that I've had for about 4 yrs just messing with it here and there. I had it powder coated shortly after I got it and tried different leaf combinations on the springs and decided to just go with a four link. It's been sittin' for about a year now or more and I got a wild hair to start on it this weak. I have to get me some different tires or finish cutting mine before I run it again.

It's gonna be my Baby Yota cause I have the 1:1 '82 Toyota that I have to get painted to match. Cheaper to paint RC . But enough with the gab here's a couple of the pics. I have to resize some of the rest.

Here's my real Yota. The Jeeps my daily driver.

I user arrow shaft carbon links

Blue powder coated chassis and custom radio box

Front end

Get the others up soon. Hope ya like. LMK what you think.

It's off to a good start, I can't wait to see how it turns out! I like the fan mod you did to the radio box.

I had to size it up. The leafs are off now. I kept them on to keep axles close to the original position. At one time I just use the shocks w/o springs and now I'm gonna go with the 4 link with springs on the shocks.

Because he wanted it blue, just my opinion. I could be wrong.

i like that "custom" radio box. I Might just have to drop by my local radio shack and pick one up for my truck too.

Looks good. and as for a blue chassis. Different strokes for different folks.......

It's blue powdercoat. When I first got it the guy had been running it in sand and it had rust spots hear and there. Not taken good care of a steel chassis will do like the real autos and be rust in the wind.

Thanks for the compliments peeps .

As for my plans right now I have some J hawg on them that I started cutting but never finished. Thinkin' of getting a set of the All-T tire so it'll match my real truck rubber.

I'm kinda lazy but got that wild hair did the links in a day. I got a stock body painted black that need one or two more coats of clear coat. Lookin at some different flatbeds on 1:1 trucks or maybe a full exo-skeleton. Never tried brazing with brake lines.

As for purpose its a rock crawler/mud bogger. But here's some more pics.

Put the tires on last night to see the height of it. Gotta redue the front upper links because I came up with a different way to mount them and need them shorter. Need more parts for the links cause I didn't get extras. That's my thinkin' usually.
