Default Badger's first TLT build

Here is my first attempt at a TLT. Details and pics:

Chassis is a prototype RBX chassis (6061)
TLT axles
Pede tranny
Lathe motor
Rooster
Custom made links
Mammoth short shocks
2WS using hitec 5645 servo
AE beadlocks w/ ghawgs (Ghawgs are temporary untill I get some M2k's or moabs.
AE 18T battery pack
3.25" center clearance
12.5" WB

It has around 3 1/4" center ground clearance with the shocks sagging a little so it has some droop also.

I found some dog bisket crumbs and dirty underwear in by garage to test this bad boy out and all I can say is wow!

thats a sweet setup, far be it from to give you advice but u may wanna mount the top of the shocks further out toward the edge of the chassis, it helped me with torque twist to a huge extent but if u aint gettin any, then it dont matter

I like the position of the motor, nice to get all that weight as low as possible

Torqe twist, what's that?

I don't have torqe twist problems so far. I am going to take it to the San Carlos crawl spot tomorrow for the real test.

mesaAZclod, not too long. I need to get better ones from cheapbatterypacks.com. These are just what I had lying around cause I did not want to use the sub c cells.

Kidwithacrayon, 3 1/4" center clearance.

No, the raffle isn't over. The tuber is still up for grabs. Hopefully I'll win!

I shall post no more in this thread because I might take over!

Nice Wire job! Welcome to the TLT community Badger. Is this the prototype? What Servo? What Grade of Aluminum? When do we get to see it in action!?!

I think ill lay my trann down. What is the wheelbase? You like the G-Hawgs? 5 Sub c cells on the Front Axle work great!

Good Luck, Cya

You like the wire job? That was from sitting in the garage for way to long this weekend trying to finish this so I just threw the electronics in. And with the antenna all bunched up like that it does not glitch, not sure why. :?

Yes this is a prototype chassis that may go to production.

Servo is a Hitec HS5645. I prefer the non digital HS645 but this is all I had lying around.

Aluminum is 6061

WB is 12.5

The Ghawgs are temporary untill I get some M2k's or moabs

You are saying that you use 5 sub c cells instead of 6? It seems like 5 cells at 1.2v would give you good run time but no punch at all. Is that not true?

Wow I am more excited than when we built the Chassis. Dang wish I could play hookie from work and come play. But I worked all week end to get close to caught up.

How is the clearance on the drive shafts to the upper links? and the bottom link ends by the chassis? In one of the pictures they look close.

I was quite4 sceptical with 5 cells but i went ahead anyways(sundays do that to you). Works great and because its so upfront really boosted my performance. I can crawl what was thought to be impossible.

Good Luck, Cya

I can't believe no one commented on how fawking ugly that gynormous body is on it! When I got it out side tonight to do some testing at the SC crawl spot the ulgyness hit me like a ton of bricks. The hood is way to long and the body is just too big for it. AND NO ONE GAVE ME ****.

Here is a reminder of how fugly it is.

I made some changes while I was crawling. I lowered it by mounting my MGT piggybackless shocks, and I mounted the battery right on top of the servo.

The ghawgs did pretty well, I was suprised. But the M2K's made it up stuff with ease on Rich's TLT.

The performance of the rig is amazing IMO and that one the first run! I can't wait to get this up against a Bulu rig and spank it when I get new tires.

New ride height

MGT pickbackless shocks

Randy, yes the links are close to the drive shafts, but they never come into contact with each other and it the suspension does not bind at all.

OH YEAH!!! This thing did not glitch once with the antenna wrapped around the other wires! I am leaving it right where it is, NO FANCY antenna holder for it.

The new ride height is from the shock change? correct? the body? needs the primer look.

Randy, yes the shorter BFT shocks lowered the ride height about 1/2".

Cman, I do not see any torqe steer at all. I even went out to the garage this morning to double check and nope I did not see any. Since I am NOT a 4 link expert, what do you see in my setup that makes you ask that question?
