I put my dremal in the drill press fixture and set the depth with a heavy duty black dremal wheel on. Then just set the rim down on the deck and rotate and cut away. The cuts will be perfect. I can post demo pics for those who don't comprehend what I am saying.

Ok sorry it has been awhile but, this thing is driving me nuts sometimes. I finally bit the bullit and grabed an old Rustler in the corner and the tranny went in. I acheived a wheel base of 12.75"s. The chassie extensions are going to get trimmed and the uppers need to be shortened and hooked up.

Here is a pic of the install, peice of cake. You all need to quit wasting time cutting aluminum and cut plastic, much easyer. :P The width on the stock chassie only widened about .120, not bad and still enough plastic on the tranny.

Here is a pic of an extened shaft, use a Sharpy cap standerd size, it takes two caps. The male end were lengthened also, I used a peice of plastic stock from one of the trees in the kit about 1" long and reamed the hole a little. I used Surehold Plastic Surgery glue. It is a everything plastic glue. It welds it together sort of.

Side view, again it is a mock up stage, there will be alot of trimming in the right spots.

Another side view, and yes with this type of install you can trim the middle up 1/2" give or take. Can you say belly up!! 4"s final clearence at center with tires at 5"s and wheel base at 12.75"s center to center with tires predicted over all at 17.75. Some one told me to go big or go home, I don't go home, bigger tires?????

Well I had some request for pics on the Pede front rim inner bead flip.
First get one of these, it's a gota have for scratch built r/c's.

Set up a heavy duty black dremal cutting wheel on the drill press so the cutting wheel is here.

Then gently slid the wheel into the cutting wheel while wide open rpms.
BE CAREFULL!!! it will filet your fingers before you feel it!!!
Leave the wheel flat on the deck and rotate the wheel to make the perfect cut.

You should have this when your done with the burrs cleaned off.

Then flip the bead and slid over rim. Then if you notice there is a nice reveil to drip in CA like glueing beads of tires. Just let it wick around the inside of the bead after a little sanding and cleaning.

Here is the rim beside a stock width rim.

Here is a Pede rear wheel, I call it the super narrow, 1.125" 8O
It is next to a 2.2 HPI super nitro wheel.

With narrowed wheels well, here are some "baby Kongs"
Before glueing, I have some glued now and they come out sweet.

Compared to stock width on same narrowed wheel.

I like the profile alot better too.

Well the chassie is done and the wheel base came out to 12.375".
I messed with other wheel base measurements and this will work the best for a good balance. The belly clearence came out to 3.75.

Front veiw were the batterys will be.

Rear view were esc and reciever will go.

Here are some pics with some fattys on for rollers.

Sneek pic of the new tread pattern, going to get two
more tire right now to redo the other two.

Looking good! I like the look of the wider tires on the chrome rims. Would look better under a Bronco body!

The rear servo needs to go in yet but I'm saving that for when I
paint the body, time goes buy quiker while waiting.

Here is the side hill with little tires, with the bigger tires it is not much less.

I couldn't help it, the thing fit so nice and clean,
