SteepJeep - Nice clean work there man, Ihave been trying to figure out how to easily make a chassis that is "scale" looking yet still functional. This design is pretty much exactly what I am looking for.

Just 1 quick question, how wide is it at the outside of the frame rails? I'm trying to "mock" it up in my head and on paper before I get too into the actual build.

Harris: Thank you very much! feel free to excuse yourself if you have to! Also, I noticed you said you couldnt wait until the body was on my rig.....Which is sort of confusing me because the body pictured is the one I will be running...Hahaha.

Snakeman: Thanks for your kind words. The chassis width measures exactly 3.5 inches from the outside of each frame rail. Please let me know if you have anymore questions about the build up as I would be glad to share the info.

Also, Not to "pimp" my chassis design or anything but this rig was built with aluminum stock and stainless hardware from my local Home Depot. I invested no more than twenty bucks for material and harware. As far as time goes, The entire chassis was built in one day with common hand tools such as hacksaw, files, drillpress and hand a hand drill. I am telling you all this incase anyone ( especially newbies like myself) is encouraged to build a homebrew chassis.

Look for some updated pics and specs tommorow after I slap in the maxx tranny.

your right it is an easy chassis to build. just need to finish mounting the gearbox and body and mine will be done.
thanks for the idea on a simple and useable chassis. I'll try too get some pics up by wed.

btw, did you nut&bolt your frame together? I'm trying aluminium pop rivets, going to give them a try but I may switch to steel rivets, just worried about using steel because of electrolysis.

Its all bolted together with 6-32 stainless hardware and locknuts.

Here are some pics of the truck with the tranny installed. I'm still trying to work out the driveshaft angles. I have some binding issues right now. Let me know what you guys think!

the chassis man. as far as the binding, lower the tranny or the ride height. Maybe a bit of caster could be added by increasing the top link length a little bit.

I think I have finally resolved all of my binding issues. Now for a quick question...Does anyone know how to get rid of the slop in the emaxx tranny?Preferably without having to lock it into first gear. Any help is greatly appreciated.

mines finished, except for minor adjustments.

tlt axles
t3 tranny

once every thing is sorted out I will take it all apart for painting.

Looks badass Flatfender! I like that tranny. Those wheels and tires are awesome too. They set the body off perfectly.

right now all 3 diffs are open and it still crawls quite well, when it comes apart for painting it'll get locked up.
now that I have a true 2.2 I can go crazy with the Jugg. tuber time!

Actually, I would love to make more chassis and sell them. I find building the most enjoyable part of the hobby. However, I have one thing against me. Time. I am so busy now with college and work that I barely have the time to even run the one I made for myself. I have no doubts that this chassis could be made by anyone over the age of thirteen. It is very simple to make and very cheap as well. Just give it a shot

I agree with steepjeep, build your own. they are easy to build and cheap too.
I drew mine out on paper, eyeballed the parts that I had to make sure they fit then built it. a couple hours (beer breaks made it longer) with a hacksaw and drill, and presto a new chassis.
and don't forget to post pics when your done.
now get building.

Thanks guys i think i will build my own, I just like your chassis because it looks more like a home built 1/1 trail rig. Im thinkin tamiya 3 speed tranny rc4wd transfer case.
