What did you do to those rims? You bolted a 2.2 to a touring car wheel? Looks quite good.

A bit of background. Rims are old school Black Foot from CRP. I cut away all of the old school hub material and ended up with a rim that had a flat face on both sides. Then I narrowed the rims so they would match my two other white Tamiya rims that were previously narrowed. Funny thing that you mentioned a touring car wheel. I had done originally hacked up a couple of touring car rims and bolted them to the rim. I didn’t like the result, not one bit. It was definitely ghetto, lol! What I ended up doing is making hubs from 1/8” G10 fiberglass. Much better!!! Here’s a closer look: |

| It's still ghetto. Haha. Just kidding. I like them very much. I will include fiberglass in my list of favourite materials. |

:-) I settled on using the CRP rims because I couldn't find another set of the white Tamiya rims anywhere. So, I decided to use what I had on the shelf instead of spending money since I couldn't find a matching set anyway. It was a fun project. | |
