In the not too far past, RCC members have listed them for $125 shipped. Hope this gives you a point of reference.

Tamiya also now sells the axles kits for $75 per axle... keep an eye on tower hobbies or local vendors here.. tends to be cheaper

Yup I'd just buy the axles but I'd probably buy Axial axles at $80. Really the axles are the only thing your going to use for crawling off a TLT. |

There is actually a BIN new TLT on ebay right now for $145 shipped. Plus quite a few others for under $225 BIN. Have you looked into the more modern alternatives to the TLT? An AX-10 seems like a much better deal to get into the hobby. |

I agree with Robb. I am new to crawling but I have a TLT with a bunch of aftermarket items and it does well. But it's still a TLT. For $225 I'd go with an AX10.

| So you want to get into crawling . . .
I have a TLT. I bought it as a full TLT kit, and proceeded to throw away EVERYTHING but the shock mounts and the axle housings - about $10 worth of parts that I paid $150 for. I have well over $500 into my TLT, but it is so far from anything you can buy in a box (kit) form. I have been tweeking it for 12 months. I guess what you have to ask yourself is: Am I a builder or a driver? Are you willing to commit to 6 months of intensive research and tinkering? Are you willing to shell out $200 to start, and then have all the pieces sitting for weeks while you wait for new mod parts? The stock TLT is fine for running around on the carpet in your house, but do not think for a moment that you can take a stock TLT out and run it in real rocks. NOW, IF YOU WANT TO GO CRAWLING . . . BUY AN AXIAL. Take your pick. they have three now. everything from a Ready To Run (RTR), to competition ready rigs. I LOVE MY TLT. BUT I HAVE HUNDREDS OF HOURS INTO IT, AND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS INVESTED. Buy an RTR Axial for $199 from any hobby store, and mod it from there, at least then you will have something to drive while you research what you want to mod. Here is my TLT as of this week - I'm STILL buying more stuff . . . |

| This is what I would buy if I were starting over . . .
Axial AX10 ARTR. http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXVCZ3&P=ML and Tower has discount codes. if you pick up any RC magazine you'll find the code somewhere in the ad. It's usually like $25 off a $200 order. Buy it. Drive it. BEAT it. and then mod it. |

I bought two TLT kits a while back, just for the hardware. TONS of useful hardware in the kits.

Constantmotion, I still think for someone just starting out, an ARTR or RTR Axial is a better choice. That way they can GET OUT THERE AND DRIVE while they research what they want to mod. The Axials are a good base to build on, and you will end up using a lot more of the original parts. You've been in RC for years, and you are (like me) a tinkerer - I probably get more out of ripping apart something and trying to improve it. |

I got my TLT because it was so cheap. Im more willing to make my own stuff and search for deals on used parts. I only paid $100 for mine, RTR. You just have to look.

I can remember when these kits were selling for $79.99 from a place in Cali. $150. seems high to me. Check elsewhere. They usually sell for $125.00. |
