Looks like a good start. "thumbsup" Doesn't look like you spent that much money, compared to some other builds. Except $37.99 for spacers WOW! Thats why I made mine from Tamiya Frog wheel adapters for about $10.

You've got a good list of parts going. You might need something stronger for the dig though. I have one of the R2D's also, but it needs a full size servo to work properly. I would also look into some Teflon bushing for it, they help it work smother. Keep it up. Interested to see it all put together.

you dont think 67oz of torque at 6v will work ?
im running it at 7.4v
and were you running the spring in your dig?
thanks though more parts are on their way
also do you have a link of those bushing becouse i cant find them in stock

rhett314 02-14-2009 10:02 PM

Honestly I was running almost 200 oz at 6v and it still would get stuck from time to time.

Here are the bushings:

And I would suggest some of the Jelly from him also. Link here:

let it loose:-P cant wait
http://i88.photobucket.com/albums/k1...cture119-1.jpg
it was cool how jerry's tranny mounts were with those hideaway screws.i decided to go with a different route.i just like countersunk screws.and also only 4 screws instead or 6 to take the tranny off.

smm_cbf 02-25-2009 08:18 PM

looks great so far..you were into boats last time we talked right?
you might want to add bearings to your list:D what size pinion are you running? im running a 8t at the moment and its slow as hell,so im getting a 20t and trying it out this weekend

eclipse9 02-28-2009 07:02 PM

im ok with bushing right now and im not a big fan of bearings in crawlers unless in the tranny.im also running an 8t its slow but its not to slow for me but in the future im going bigger probly
