Default Meet Critter - Bulu2 crawler w/ lots-o pics

Meet CRITTER

Named b/c it just looks like a freakish little animal of some sorts

This will be my 4th crawler. I spared no expenses on this one.

here's a quick rundown:

- bulu2, SR, Lathe motor, 7cell GP2200, 3link front/rear, topped with the best Proline goods and Rckjeep's rock rings.

Obviously the theme here is purple......

check out those fangs

painted rockrings and screws..... just a touch of bling till it hits the rocks

Whatcha think?

oh yeah, almost forgot the body off shots

Thanks for the tip on this battery Badger. It works awesome! :-D

- upper links are 1/4" alum rod
- lower links are 3/16" sleeved tubing. Super lightweight and STRONG!
- super thin alum skid plate to reduce weight even more.

I'll have some action pics up soon. Already tested it on the rocks and it works beautifully. Very little chassis twist so far. With a little shock tweaking it'll be gone for good.

Thanks. What's wrong with Hotbodies shocks? They're some of the smoothest shocks I've ever used.

Thanks. I can't take credit for the design. I've seen this setup before in a couple ORCRC rigs. RBGerrish's Courier and some black toyota bodied crawler.

So far it seems to hold up fine. I've only had one outing with it so far so let's hope.

They work great for crawlers.
I just thought what you said was funny. You spared no expense but those Hot Bodies shocks are the cheapest aluminum shocks you can buy.

Oh ok, haha. I got these shocks used. They feel real smooth so I thought they were pretty nice.

When I said I spared no expense I meant I didn't cut any corners in jerry rigging anything up like my last TLT. This one's built right.

They work fine for me. Never had a problem with em so far. My last TLT I was always breaking axle housings and axle shafts but never a yoke. They're cheap but seem strong enough.

Ok, let me revise my statement to "I spared little expense" building this crawler

That float your boat better?

Actually, I would feel better if you said it this way:

"When I built the Critter, I bought a bunch of cheap crap that will hold up for a while. I didn't want to spend much money because I know this thing won't work fer beans just like my other rigs!"

Only kidding! This is one of the best 2.2 rigs I have seen! Honest!!!!

not too bad, some words of wisdom though. Your ultra thin skid will get all bent up, get the steel yokes, thats it.

Yea I'm working on finding some other material to use for a skid plate. I need to look into that cutting board material people get from walmart. Till then I'll enjoy seeing my skid plate get all bent out of shape. Adds character right?

I actually have a steel yoke on the front axle and both tranny outputs. That rear yoke is the only one that's plastic.

I'm resizing pics right now so I'll have action pics up shortly.

the cutting board I used works very well.
I used one from my kitchen after I cut up some chicken on it. It's cool because I can lick it during a comp if I get hungry and it satisfies me for a brief moment.

Hmmm.... Uncooked chicken drippings are the best!

Nice looking rig, very clean mounting.
