RBX!, it's no contest. it's soo much more stable. It's really quite amazing how just laying the tranny down makes such a difference.

So I haven't done squat but drive this thing and that hasn't even happened much lately. So I finally put my ornage CJ8 body on it. But I found a body that I think will be awesome for a comp rig. It should be here tomorrow. Here's the body on towers site.

I want to do a nifty paint job, I'm thinking of a Rat Rod scheme. I'm going to post a poll in general on scheme & colors.

I agree that edges are bad on the bottom of a crawler.. I have eliminated all of mine, but when your on your skid its supper slick right..?

It could be better, I got the body today. It's a little wider than I had imagined but it looks really scale and I'm hoping the paint job comes out nice. I want to do something old school. I plan on getting some new HPI spike wheels in chrome or black chrome. to complete the look. But we'll see. Anyone got any paint ideas?

there's only three colors for a "Rat Rod"... Satin black, Red, and White.

You have to have red pinstriping

I'd paint the inside chrome and paint the main colors on the outside (have to do it this way to get a flat or satin finish). So when it scrapes the paint off on the rocks your left with a bare metal look.

Thats not a bad idea. I was thinking of going flat black and painting it inside & out. But we'll see. I do plan on the pinstriping though.

I always loved the looks of the early 50's bodies, I had a panel for my maxx until it got thrashed, but now I see theyve made them in .60 lexan, and I may buy another now

Here are a few shoots of my Chevy body, kinda old school. I have added a rollbar/lightbar. Sorry it's not on a crawler.
