..is that 70%? Great looking rig. So did you steal the skidplate from the wife, or buy it at Walmart?

Actually he is using the piece that broke off when the wife hit him over the head with it.

No, he got it out of a cracker jack box.

rckjeep 09-19-2005 11:19 PM

I doubt it's 70 %. I just kept cutting whatever the tires hit. I wouldn't have cut so much but the rear tires would grab the body and get bound up on it. So a hackin I went. It's an RBX chassis. I'll get my Rockstar chassis done next once I make a few more mods. I'll have two kick *** crawlers. Then I plan on making a trail rig. Something with a fairly short wheelbase to use all my bodies. It seems like a waste to have a cool FJ, the General Jeep, and a Camo clod body.

It was actually a Crawler Jacks box. some one made a big spelling error and then wanted to sneak it by QC by actually putting in a crawler.

wrx-n-ktm 09-19-2005 11:21 PM

Nice... Hopefully my RBX will get here soon!! What is your WB at?

rckjeep 09-20-2005 10:10 AM

WB is 13"

rckjeep 09-22-2005 07:48 PM

Well I took it out and finally played on some real rocks yesterday. It gets hung up a bit on the center skid. Maybe I'll make my own that ramps up like all my other ones I've made. The edges of the skid just get hooked on things. I need to do something about that.

nd4spdbh 09-22-2005 08:33 PM

where does it get hung up?

cus it looks pretty smoth to me and nicly radiused

ManiacMagoo 09-22-2005 10:26 PM

You could try a rounded edge router bit for a dremel around the edges to get a smooth edge if it doesn't chip or anything.

From looking at the pics and reading RCKjeeps post, it's pretty clear to me where it hangs up.

Ya it's smooth but, if it had bent up portions like my skids it would solve my problem. I'll look into getting some aluminum to make a new skid. Plus it's a bit low. But I don't want to give up stability. If I raise it, I will lose stability. I've found the highest point that gives the best stability. But If I get hung up and can't move forward then it's not much good.

Looks good! You should run a 60/40 or 70/30 forward chassis bias for even slicker performance! Nice work.

I tried a shorter rear set up but it didn't seem the flex nearly as well. I could easily go back. Maybe I'll try it and take it to the mini hammers and see. I"m just having a hard time with the front end a smooth travel.

mesaAZclod 09-22-2005 11:15 PM

your tlt is frekin pimptastic ! lol really i like it alot

badhoopty 09-23-2005 08:41 AM

nice.

i got my rbx the other day, now i'm just waiting on tower to send me a bunch of goodies so i can at least get it going as a roller until they get the tekin rebel 2 back in stock.

ever consider using the associated chassis protector stick-on sheet for a skid? thats what i think i'll use on my rbx.
