Talking DD 2.2 Scale Clod 72' Chevy

Here is my new clod, traded Dirk Digler and recieved it yesterday afternoon.

I changed the shocks, modified the suspension alittle, Painted the body, Tires and wheels all last night so here are the pics. I will be working on this truck for a while, lots to come!

All im waiting on for it to be running is my lathes and pinions. I plan to narrow the wheels from the outside due to its wide stance currently, and make a few modifications to the axles. Comments welcome!

Brandon ;)

Good looking rig! Love the paint job! 2.2" Clods are a lot of fun, I love mine.

Those wheels have a shallow backspacing, they look like Ofna's or front 'Pedes. Wheels designed for the REAR of a Stampede have more backspacing, making them a good wheel for 2.2" Clods. With rear 'pede wheels my 2.2" Clod is 12.5" wide, making it legal for 2.2" Class comps. With a narrower track you'll get hung up on the axles less also. ;)

These are rear 'pede wheels. Notice the inner bead of the tire sits right over the kingpin, hardly any steering scrub = happy servo. The bottom screw and bumper bosses on the axles have been shaved since this picture, almost a necessity for a 2.2" Clod.

I think it might be a sin to put Imex tires on a digler rig

Hehe I know... Those tires are for a mock up, I have some pede wheels for it and some new moabs, I just need to figure out how much I need to narrow them ect.

CSR: Thanks for the compliments, your trucks stance is exactly what I want to achieve!

Rockinrockcrawler: Well its my first clod but definately not my first crawler. Thanks for the compliment!

Yours will look awesome with the ol' Chevy body, narrower track width and Moab's.

My truck is 12.5" wide with the All-T's on RPM wheels, 12" wide with Masher 2K's on original Traxxas 'Pede rear wheels.

I'm collecting parts to build another 2.2" Clod. The new one will have Moab's on Traxxas wheels, outer bead cut off. I'm hoping to get it down to 11-11.5" wide.;)

Thanks Bender, the more bodies I paint the better I get. I used to hate painting bodies because I would always F up, but now its my favorite part.

Thanks for the rest of the compliments.

Kaaina: Its not longer that wide, I got it down to about 11.5in last night, narrowed it a whole inch! I just hope the wheels hold up since I hacked them so much.

This looks a great truck , not the biggest fan of clod based crawlers but this one just looks right being more scale.

Good looking, get it running and go rape some rock!!! I had a clod and like a fool traded it for some mini t stuff... I will stick with the TLT 10 for now. I have a lot of fun with it.

My narrowed pede wheels compared to the duratrax wheels. Major width change I like the way it looks now, except all the CA glue on the wheels discolored them so they dont look chrome anymore! O well they are going to get F'd up anyways
