| RC-10 tranny in a crawler?
Anyone try and old school Rc-10 tranny for a crawler? I searched but didn't see much at all. I have 3 or 4 of them from the old days, early eighties and was thinking of trying one out. Any thoughts or expeirances?

I run an associated t2 tranny. It's a great tranny. There has been lots of posts on the associated trannies btw. I'll have to do a search here in a min. to get ya some links. The tranny is great, very tuff. I've had no problems with mine. |

I bet you could get your old stuff to work. Mine came from an rc10 t2. I have no clue what tranny the rc10t was though. |

The way you can find out if it is a newer one is to open it up. If it has 6 gears its an older version and is not worth the amount of loose change in your pocket, but if it has 3 gears go ahead and use it. Parts are still available due to the fact that associated shares a lot of their parts with their other trannies.

I used a T10 stealth tranny in my first crawler over two years ago. I'm thinking of using one again in my TLT crawler. Hard to beat a good quality tranny like associated or Losi... |

yo dont need to open it up to find the diff, the 6gear has a MUCH bigger and blockier looking case. the stealth is really compact, and you can see the outlines of the 3 gears inside since the case is pretty much molded around them, its pretty organic looking compared to the old 6gear. 6gear also had a ball slipper for the spur, stealth has friction disks. |
