moon-buggy

update time. I turned the 100 dollar clod into a sweet gecko 2.2 because I don't like breaking servos. The TLT has some aluminum skins and moabs. The mini giant has nylint tires. I wish I had a better picture, it looks really good. and the X-terra is my nylint.

This was a crawling trip in southern Utah with my bros. and some friends.

Knytemare 10-04-2005 12:24 AM

Id love to see more pics on that moon buggy there! Awesome looking rig!

Stump 10-04-2005 07:56 AM

Did you build the tuber moon buggy? looks cool...I would like to see more pics and some specs as well....

Gimbal 10-04-2005 08:16 AM

ditto. The moon buggy looks alot like what I have in mind for mine. Nice work :)

thefordmccord 10-04-2005 09:45 AM

Yeah, I'm digging on the "moon buggy". It looks like it would be kinda heavy, but most of the weight is low.

Oh, and BTW, you still suck for getting that clod for 100 bucks. I'll give you $101 for it...

Gimbal 10-04-2005 11:26 AM

$102.99

Stump 10-04-2005 12:26 PM

I will give you 10,599............................................ ..........pennies for it...

Your Rigs are awsome. I realy like the moon bugy:)

cuban b 10-05-2005 11:05 PM

thanks for the replies. I'm stoked that Gimbal thinks it's cool, that guy builds some mean junk. After some extensive testing the last two days, the moon buggy is awesome. It runs a losi trans, and a 7-cell AA pack (got the idea from eepee on here) and it is awesome. Low CG makes it super stable, 7 cell pack gives good punch, and the small double A's let me distribute weight better. I'll try and get some better pictures in the next couple days. It gets lost in the background on the one I posted.

Pretty slick little moon buggy you've got there.

It's kinda got that Campbell look to it.

Get some more pics of that thing for us.

Wow, I though this thread was dead, and your right about my samurai.;-)

EeePee 11-23-2005 11:24 PM

How's the battery pack working out?

cuban b 11-24-2005 12:55 AM

The battery pack is awesome. Better weight distribution, and a little extra punch. I'll probably never use sub-c's in a crawler again. The AA pack inspired me to build a AAA pack for my mini giant crawler. It works great too.

crawlerkid 11-24-2005 05:21 AM

Has the mini giant been done with normal mods, like:

Diff locks
Stretch
Tire cut
Servo moved to axle
Shocks
Reduct gears
Body cut

Anything else?

cuban b 11-24-2005 10:49 PM

My best mod on the mini giant has been after that pic was taken. I made some hybrid wheels to allow me to run nylint tires. They are a little hard for the weight of the mini giant but the extra clearance is more than worth it.

And it looks awesome.

Also, My frame is seriously hacked to lower everything. That is why my electronics are mounted in the cage in the truck bed.
