I agree with the rc18mt. I love mine. For about $150.00 US it is a fairly versatile vehicle. It's 1:18 scale, 4 wheel drive, quick, handles well, takes jumps nicely, and is ready to run. Not much of a climber, but it is tough enough to take on my living room and the local construction zones.

When I was stationed in Korea I built a small Pajero... Drivetrain and body came from an Auldey Race Tin. The tires came from a 1/32 monster truck that you stick batts in and let it go. Chassis and wheels were made by a guy on RCMT. Last edited by JasonInAugusta; 10-17-2005 at 10:18 PM. |

I thought the mini z mt was 4wd, looked like a front diff. Youre right, it is a strange combo but it will probably just be taken bashing. The rocks out the back of my place are unique... Theyll hang up a txt 1 but not a tlt 1 or similar-Why? Cos theyre isnt a lot of room and there are lot of poke ups thatll hang up a diff. The big ones cant go round but you can go round em with a decent small crawler. I tried out an old 2wd drive out there, it was 1/14 but the suspension was way too stiff. With a diff lock if you kept up the speed you could get through, but its not a nice ride . Imagine the kids in the back-:-? :-x . Its not a lot of fun to drive, oh well hopefully offload once ive got a decent one.

I think that an "auldrey race tin" is the same thing as a Tyco Canned Heat. I am pretty sure that they are not made anymore. A Canned heat was a small, I think 1/20ish, scale, cheap RC. It is non-proportional and runs off of 2 AA batteries. It is 2wd but has a solid rearend, no diff. A couple of years ago I made a short wheelbase chassis out of RC car body lexan and mounted a small 2/3 AA 3-cell pack up to it. It was fun, but not very practical. The lexan allowed for some "suspension" flex. I made a skid for the front end and it could hop up and over a typical RC car battery without trouble. I wonder whatever happened to it... If an auldrey race tin isn't the same as a canned heat, than please disregard the previous statements and point and laugh at me, as I am only going by the pictures. |
