I like these, nice and small, and the price is right. Intellect 1200 2/3A PRODUCT DESCRIPTION Intellect Battery 1200 2/3A is the current best 2/3A cell on the market. Out performs GP1100 2/3A at low and high loads. Good up to 25-30amps. But still best suited for 15-25amps average draw. | |

damn, it feels good to be a gangsta. Microgoat 4.0 is now fully funded. expect a buildathon Sunday, with pics. if it crawls up to its potential, the coveted Blue Star will be awarded, and plans and kits will be available. i'm designing it around a Pede tranny for simplicity and universal availability. no pricing at this time. i will reveal pricing once i get a blue star, which is contingent upon the rig's abilities. both will include fully illustrated instructions, and plans will be hand-tool friendly so you can build one in your basement. a complete list of the parts required will also be included. even a monkey can build this one. hell, even i can build it. stay tuned. Goatworks may soon tackle the PTI Goliath! |

for those who missed it in the Vendors section, Goatworks Racing is now open for business, although i have nothing to sell yet. nothing like jumping the gun. anyway, this is Microgoat 4.0, the "Deep Vee" design, which will present as little belly as possible (unlike its creator) to the rock. the center skid will be about 1-1/4 inches wide. it's designed around brushless power, but a lathe or mag mayhem would work. wheelbase right now is right at 12-1/2, right height shown is 2-1/4. it should be tweakable up or down. obviously, the final version will look less like a cut-up battery charger. as far as plans go, how Tamiya-like should i make them? what's the industry standard here? is it pretty much, "here's your plates, have at it," or is there more detail involved? i'm planning to do a full anal-retentive Tamiya-style manual with this, but maybe that's overkill. |

they're not mounted at the chassis end yet, plus i gotta re-oil 'em, the Traxxas oil is a bit thick (goat jizz?) but man, are they smooth! we're looking at an all-day thrash-a-thon today to get the prototype done; i really want to get this little bugger up and running. |

here's a progress shot. i'm using the TLT canties as shock mounts. the final version will be adjustable for ride height, single screw for each one. the tranny sits a little further forward and a tick higher now.

got a little more done today. the first shot shows how low the CG is. that's RTR with everything but the skidplate and rear driveshaft, battery and electronics on board. the second shot shows how narrow the belly is. wish mine still looked like that. EDIT: guess i uploaded 'em in the wrong order. oh well, you get the idea.

| first crawl, medium awesome
wow, this thing is sick. this new generation of lowrider crawlers really blows me away. this thing makes my old one look like a city bus. still need to work out a few kinks and fit a skidplate, but the potential of this rig is way beyond my ability to drive it. sidehills up to 75-80* (eyeball measurement) were no problem, and the only snags were axle-related. no rollovers. one hitch i see, if you're not planning on using the Axi, there's not much room for electronics. even with the little Mamba speedo, it's kind of cramped. but there are ways around that kind of stuff. no rule says the electronics have to be on the chassis. does anyone know an easy way to extend Jato driveshafts? my rear one is about maxed out. i'm thinking about going back to Pede shafts, they're so much easier to work with. overall, i'm lovin' the Deep Vee. but my brain is starting to hurt. that's enough for one day. |

today she goes for the weigh-in. the prototype is made of thinner stuff than the final, and there's still no skidplate, but it's still a featherweight. gonna put it on the postal scale at work, and i'll let you know the results.

weighing in at 67.7 ounces (4.25 pounds) in prototype form, the Deep Vee! this is with .015 side plates, no skid or transverse bulkheads, so the final weight may be a bit closer to 4.5, but there's also 3oz of lead in each wheel. gonna work on a second set of plates tonight and switch to 10wt shock oil. stay tuned! |

bendy banana's what you get when you prototype with easy-to-work .015 material. the real deal will be stiffer .060ish.
