Default Another scale truck build

Here is my atempt to build a scale truck, got a good start on it today.
Fiberglass side plates are cut out. need more holes in them.
The drivetrane is all VMG. I need 2 stock tires and 2 stock rimes to make another set of skinny tires. The body looks like a nissan hardbody to me.
So am I off to a good start?

Umm, where did you get that body its my 1:1 daily driver rig. Looks freakin sweet so far!

Looks like the body is from a nikko, tyco, radioshack toy r/c. Do you know which?

It's aTyco Baja Bandit. This body is about 15 years old. I knew you would like it.
I'm waiting for parts like always. As soon as tower delivers the suspension links everything will come together quick. Purchased some aluminum mini t shock for it too.

Got the parts today and did some work on it.
It has a 3link suspension front and rear. I was first going to make it a 4 link but coud not get the right triangulation. For it to work correctly.
Here are some pics

I still need 2 rims!

The Baja Bandit was one of my first RCs! I begged my rents to buy it for everytime I seen it at the toy store for months. Then finaly one Christmas morning there was one under the tree. I had a blast with that thing. Heck I think I still have parts of it somewhere Lol

Very cool prodject

Anyone mind if I resurrect this dinosaur? I just bought a bandit off eBay. Hasn't shown up yet but I'm wondering some dimensions? 1:18ish?

Will the Losi MRC axles work with it or should I look into finding RC4WD's small scale axles? Or even as small as a Losi micro axle set with the bigger tires and wideners?

There's some dimension info here on this Ebay post. With my calculations with the 1/1 dimensions and this body it comes out to a 1/16 scale.
