What kind of deal is this?

Been reading and reading the last few days so I decided its time to post?

I'm looking to get into a crawler. And would like some advice!

I've been thinking of a mini losi TLT or AX-10

So a local guy is selling a TLT he doesnt use and I need to know what kind of deal this is, I probably should upgrade my transmitter as well.

TLT based crawler:

TLT axles
Pro-line 2.2 inch Moab tires
Hitec heavy duty metal gear servo's
Traxxas Stamepede Transmission
Bender SW2 Chassis
55 turn lathe motor

Comes with:
Body (needs to be mounted)
Electronics and radio (radio needs a new battery holder)
Battery and battery charger

I noticed today that I'm missing one half of each of the drive shafts. You can pick these up on ebay or at a hobby shop for real cheap. The halves that are still attached have heavy duty steel yokes and u-joints. I've got about $350 into it so i'd like to get $175 for it. This is a great starter crawler and the amount of upgrades for it are pretty much endless.

Sounds like a pretty decent deal to me,especially since it already has a stampede tranny. But it looks like the four link setup needs some adjustment. But still,I would buy it.

It's dated, but still a bargain.

I have one like that (more upgrades) but I wouldn't let it got for near that price.

I think it is a good deal for a starter.

That's pretty much what my first TLT looked like... SW2, TLT's, Moabs... I'd buy it!

If I was looking to set this up for good articulation and flex along with decent power what should I look into getting?

Also what transmitters are people using these days?

I am a RC NOOB

Buy It!
I sold a TLT with simulare specs for Way more than the price you can get it.
For that price, Buy It."thumbsup"

As far as set-up, A cheep tq2 or 3 will suffice. And a
xl5 speedo will do a crawler good..

For the $175 or so .... buy it "thumbsup"

it would be a great starter rig for the price. i'm sure many many of us have started with the same rig.

He is mine and i still get it out for time on the rocks "thumbsup"

To be honest, there is far better crawlers in the for sale section for the same price or just slightly more. This is a perfect example:

I think you can buy stronger axles than the TLT with more upgrade options. I personally would pass on the SW2 TLT for $175 and use that money for something better.
