Default The Six Shoota

Some of you may know of Gaeme's "Six Shoota" Moon buggy. (The 4-locked Films buggy)

Well, Hackster went wheeling with him, and mentioned that I designed my super loosely after his buggy. Apparently he thought it was cool, and asked if I'd be willing to build him a replica of the 'Shoota. Hack and I have teamed up to get it done! I spent 7 hours today building the chassis and buying some goodies to make it right. Graeme gave us TLT axles to get it rolling.

Here's the progress so far:

I scanned the profile from Crawl magazine, then imported it into Illustrator and outlined it, and scaled it up to 12.5" wheelbase. Printed it out, then traced the basic scale on graph paper, and drew it out with brakeline widths. Here's the profile:

And the chassis so far:

It'll have the RC4wd 2.2 Rock Crusher tires, which are just a hair taller than the real trucks in scale. Black Proline Beadlocks on all corners.

More to come in a few days...

ryan

this is awesome because I was just talking to Graeme yesterday and he mentioned this, I went on here to see if I could find it and here it is. The frame looks good. The rock crusher's are a perfect choice for this since he is currently running BFG crawlers.

Thanks folks! I think Graeme will dig it. I'll have to use some wideners to get it to scale.

I'm currently working on the engine, and it's looking pretty cool so far! Pics to come.

I think we will start a new class call it 2.2 true comp. Your rig has to be a dead ringer for a real rig. Great build man!

Here's the axles mocked up under the truck with 2.2 Rock Stompers, Proline wheels and Hot Racing wideners.

And here's the engine:

More to come!
