Default That brushless motor...

Hey Bender,
in the middle of this thread I learned you replaced the integy lathe motor with a brushless one. With brushed motor it is easy to take the truck steady (and fry the esc/motor) on an uphill road partializing the throttle.
My experience with a Mamba sport combo says you cannot do it with a sensorless brushless motor. Am I wrong ?
If it is not clear what I want to say is that with those kind of hardware you can control the power sent to the motor but not the torque, as needed when you want to counter balance the torque induced by gravity on the drivetrain when the truck is on a slope.

Thanks
Filippo

The low speed throttle resolution with my brushless set-up is fine, as long as you gear the tranny down as much as possible.

Where do I put all four washers that came with the sw2 chassis? I assume one each on the outside, but what about the other two?

I usually install all 4 between the tranny and the engraved chassis plate, 2 per screw. That'll move the driveshafts away from the upper links while the suspension cycles.

Thanks for the help, I was able to get that much of it together. Now on to modifying the yokes for the driveshafts.

You do want the long halfshafts, that run from the Maxx diff to the wheels.

You'll want these driveshafts.

With these yokes. You'll want to buy 2 of these packages, so you'll end up with 4 total.

Those halfshafts are long enough, they actually may need to be shortened depending on your link set-up.

Turnbuckles are 105mm Traxxas Maxx turnbuckles.

Most people run replacement shocks for the Maxx trucks. Any 100mm aluminum threaded shock will work. I prefer the threaded aluminum for adjustments on the fly.

I made the lower links myself on a lathe out of 3/8" Delrin rod. The upper links are the stock TLT lowers.
