They're just Traxxas 105mm Maxx turnbuckles, part # 2339. I believe it's the length of the turnbuckle without rod ends. Wheelbase will depend on your ride height, I run 3" of belly clearence with those turnbuckles. So anything around 100mm should work fine.

I made a few more changes to my SW2, in the form of a new body, wheels and tires. I wanted a little wider stance then 10". So I picked up some HPI 5 spoke wheels and narrowed them on the inner bead. I bored the ID of the inner bead out a little, then parted it off on the lathe. I turned to OD of the wheel to match the new diameter on the inner bead, sanded and glued to 2 halves together. Now there is no way the rims will ever come apart. The overall width now is 10 3/8", with Moabs. I also bored the front face of the wheels to accept the 3/4" steel falt washers that I run for wheel weight. I sandblasted this set and drilled some holes for the beadlock look. The rings are just glued into the wheels. Lastly is the new bug body.

Looks great, man. Is that the new mini-LST Bug body, or the old HPI shell for the RS4 MT?

Default A little Sunday morning carnage.........

I was hearing a faint clicking in my 2.2 rig the last few times I crawled with it. So, I pulled the suspect axle apart to find that all the diff housing screws had backed out. They had milled into my rear axle housing. Here's what JB Weld, grease and plastic shavings look like when mixed.

Arrow Shaggin' Wagon goes brushless........

Well, I decided it was time to jump on the brushless bandwagon. After exchanging a few PM's with johnrobholmes, I figured I'd give it a try. I went with the "Holmes Hobbies Revolver 25 Combo". The first thing I noticed when opening the package from www.holmeshobbies.com was how light this set-up is. The motor is about 1/2 the length of a standard 540 can, and about 1/2 the weight. When bolted to a pede tranny it is well protected from the rocks. The ESC is so small/light it can be mounted anywhere and not hinder performance.

I gave the Revolver 25 package a short test run earlier today, and I am very impressed. I set my rig up with an 84t spur and a 14t pinion to start. This package has more torque then any lathe motor set-up I've run in this rig. Obstacles that would bind my 65t motor, were a breeze with this package. I even had a little more wheelspeed too. I think I'm going to jump to a 16t pinion, for a little more zip.

A few pics.......the eyeball sticker is to keep dust out of the motor.

What kind of run time did you get? Are you still running the same battery pack? How was the screeching noise?

These little things are amazing. Were else can you shave 6+ oz. (Mamba/Revolver compared to Lathe/TR2) and get that big an increase in power? Johnrob was a winner on him hands w/ the Revolver/Mamba set up!

My run time went down a little, but it wasn't by much. I got a good hour out of an older 2400 nicad. This set-up is 1,000,00 times quieter then Skippy's, at least it seemed like it to me.

You bringing it to the rock race next weekend? I wanna hear what it sounds like. Iv'e been thinking about another SW2 brushless/lipo comp rig, delrin links going light weight eveything. I just don't want mine to screech like Skippy's .

Oh yeah, it'll be at the rock race.

It is a little louder then a lathe motor. It screeches a little at start up, but it's not as bad as Skippy's. I'm not sure what combo Skippy's running either.

How's the turning power (for servo)? Iv'e read about it on JRH's threads and I'm not sure I understand how they are getting around this problem.

The servo works fine. The Mamba 25 speed control has a 1.5a BEC, no need for a reciever pack on a TLT rig with one servo. I went to this set-up from a Super Rooster and a 65t lathe motor. I didn't notice any big difference in steering between the 2 set-ups.
