Agreed. Single server and motor you don't need an extra battery pack. With my maxx and 2 digital servos, I have to have a battery pack.

I'm not scared.

I was afraid with all the torque the Revolver motor generates, I would be breaking more axle housings. So, I applied some thin CA around the ears that the outer knuckles screw to. This definitely beefed up the stock plastic TLT housings. It eliminated the flex around that area when in hard binds.

Another reason I like the Stealth. I have the slipper tightened extremely tight. But when you get a tire wedged and you give the Revolver some juice, the slipper does it's job.

I still think I'll try your trick w/ the CA. though. Great idea!

I have the slipper installed on my pede tranny, same deal as you. I have it so tight it's only slipped once so far, maybe I should back that off a little.

The motor and spur do hang outside the frame.

A little with a lathe motor, not much with brushless. The motor is on the torque twist side, so I adjust for it in the shock springs and oil.

the 12-48 is 12tooth-48pitch pinion for the motor and the spur gear on the tranny is 84tooth-48pitch. oh and they are separate parts

This is the rig I won the Nationals with, but I modified it a little since this thread. You can see the version I won with here.

I love that picture, really suprising how well the chassis held up with all that cut away

hey bender, i am thinkin about building one of these Sw2's, and i was wondering what pinion you used from where, and if revo pushrods would work instead of max tierods, maybe because they are too long or something.

Any pinions will work, you just have to make sure the pitch (angle of the teeth) is the same on the spur and pinion gears. I use Revo links on mine and I like them, they are stronger than Maxx links and don't have the hex in the middle so they are smoother. They are a tad to long for a comp rig, I had to shorten mine at the Nats. alot of us from Co. were an 8th of an inch or so to long
Here is a pic of mine.

Thanks.

I was a little skeptical about the durability of the relieved SW2, but it has held up fine.

RacerX pretty much covered it. Pinion pitch has to match spur pitch. And you can mount the lower links on the SW2 in the skid plate holes if you're wheelbase is too long.
