Well it's just about done. I added some tube hoops over the shock mounts with a little bracing. I think this gives the shock mounts a little more strength. Plus I think they look nicer. I need to cut the back out of the body and make a bed cover. Then a rx mount. After that it will be up to James for the finishing touches. Here are a couple pics of the shock mounts.

Here are the last of my pics before it goes in the box. If you have a hamster wheel 56K modem like myself you must hate me and this thread by now. But the guys like pics so bite me.

Thanks guys, I can't wait until James gets it and gets it painted. It should look pretty good all finished up. I have a few chassis in the works. Looks like my Jeep started something for me.

Thanks Mike, I have a leaf springer on the drawing board. Actually it's in my head. It will be a custom frame w/ jugg springs. Clod body, TLT axles, pede tranny, and G-hawgs or maybe swampers. After the holidays I hope to get started.

rocpede,
I have to make a couple spacers for the mount. I will take a couple more detailed pic later on today. I am excited, I think this truck is going to come out great.

CrawlnSlow,
I still laugh my a$$ off when I read that.

Instead of spending $50 bucks for a 'pede tranny pieced out could you just by a rustler kit for ~$67 take the parts you need, the extra spur gear, maybe the wheels for a 2.2 project and sell the rest?

I guess you could if you can find a kit. Most of the Rustlers I see are RTR. If you look around you can find them for a little over $100. Sell off the spare parts on Ebay. When your done your can get back about half. Your back to about $50. It is a lot of hassle for little gain. I have tried it. I ended up with a lot of tires an chassis that nobody want. I look for used on Ebay. Take the tranny and drive shafts out and throw the rest away.

Or do the same but wait until you have a collection of chassis and parts minus trannys and throw it up on ebay as a lot. Im enjoying seeing 50+ people whatching the auction right now, I dont really care what it goes for, but its fun!! ;)

I got the truck yestorday and put everything together and the drive shaft angle was very steep and if anyone knows how to fix this without lowering the tranny please post. The fronts now to bad.

You cant really see from this angle

Dont worry about this one brando its not gooing to tstay like this, i just threw everything in there so its pretty messy. When its all painted ill have all the wires nice and neat.

Default drive shafts

If they angle is a bit to steep you can lengthen the top links or shorten the bottom links, this will rotate the diff up slightly, just becareful not to do it to much if you plan to run 4WS because it will throw the caster off. Other then that, it looks sweet , except for those lil tires , needs a nice set of Moabs or some Swampers with some rock rings. What color are you going to paint the chassis and body?

later

I can see you messed with the links. It isn't going to turn very well with the front axle tipped like that. Have you removed the clips from the shocks? I can't tell from the pics. If you remember I said you would have to get some softer springs for those shocks. Softer springs will let the truck settle a little and improve your angles. This truck is very similar to the Jeep I built. Those drive shafts where at a steep angle but worked fine. Did you trim the yoke where it goes up against the tranny? I think the yoke may be rubbing on the tranny case.

I understand you want to get this truck together. But I have asked a number of questions and not got replies to my questions. If you want help you need to slow down and answer my questions.

First of all get that motor out of there. You are never going to know if you have a bind with a motor installed. You want to be able to roll the truck.
