Default JL scale Bronco build-up

And away we go. I am starting on a scale Bronco build-up. I am building the complete roller for James Luce. He wanted a truck that was along the same lines as my silver Jeep. I am going to build the chassis and make it roll. And James is going to finish up all the painting and final touches. Here is a quick list of some of the specs.

HPI Bronco body
Approx. 12" wheelbase
Square steel frame with full tube cage
TLT axles
4 inch coilover shocks
Pede tranny
Revo links
Tires? will do mockup with some 2.2 Moabs

I got a start on it today. I built the frame rails and tied them together with a few crossmembers. The profile of the frame is pretty close to a 1:1 frame. I made the tranny/ link mounts and mounted a mockup tranny. I also threw on a set of revo links to give an idea of wheelbase. Now just waiting on the big brown truck for some more parts. Here is what I have so far.

Solid start man. I love the look of frame rails. Makes a rig look solid. Can't wait to see more progress. Nice sig. by the way.

You might want to check this out for a tranny James. New 'Pede tranny hook up deal.... I put mine together by buying all the parts seperate. I think I ended up spending close to $50 for all the parts. And that is with no motor included. Sounds like a pretty good deal to me.

rocpede,
I have to make a couple spacers for the mount. I will take a couple more detailed pic later on today. I am excited, I think this truck is going to come out great.

CrawlnSlow,
I still laugh my a$$ off when I read that.

I have been waiting for some parts for the Bronco. So needless to say I have not got very far. James is getting anxious so I figured I would give him a little fix. Here is your standard mockup on a block pic.

I need to locate the body on the chassis tomorrow. Then the tube bending will begin. By the end of the week it should look like something. And it should be able to sit up without a block.

Ok, Before James has a cow I figure he needs an update. Body is mounted, front and rear bumpers done, main cage 75% complete. Here are a couple pics of the progress.

I let my 6 yr. old daughter drive my Savage one time and she almost killed us! She jumped the curb and came right at the two of us I was yelling let of the throttle over and over.It finally stoped when she ran over her bike! After I asked her why she didn't let of the throttle she said "what's a throttle?" I almost fell over laughing!!!
