Great start man! Have fun with it now, because once you upgrade to a better chassis or build your own you will really appreciate its performance I also like the look of it with the pullers!

Why are you running an EVX. Seems like alot of unneeded weight and expense for a lathe motor.

Looks nice and clean... What kind of links?

For the same reason you use a super rooster with a lathe... More power, dont have to worry about frying it, and im not sure about the evx, but the super rooster can handle two high torque servos. Im sure the evx is similar.

Default the evx

to be honest i was plannig on getting a rooster for it when i ran across 2 new evx's on ebay for 90 bucks i needed a speedo for my clod as well so getting 2 for less than a used super rooster was a no brainer for me . kind the kill 2 birds with 1 stone thing.and yes it does great with the 2 servos on the tlt cause im only runnig 1 motor . on the clod im having to run a reciever pac the stop the glitching.
and the links are acually clod steering links sleaved with 3/16 aluminium tubing.
they seem to be holding up pretty good but if a prob. arises ill just make some 1/4"
links.
and thanks for the complements

Jeep looks nice! Looks like a pretty good build. I hope we can go crawling sometime. :-D

What do you think of that Stinger motor in there? any good for crawling?

Cman: the stinger is ok for the trails but a little weak for any heavy crawling. + its uses up more juice that i like. im gonna install a lathe pretty soon . i can gear it up if i need to for speed but it will be alot better all around.
thanks for the complements. and ill be gettin in touch with you on crawlin with you pretty soon. later bro

hey GH. thanks for the complement. and the pullers are suprisingly working pretty good. the tread is a little hard but the sidewalls flex enough to make up for it . and the wheels being narrowed pulls them in so that the lugs poke out so as they grab when articulated. im not running inserts in them either. and the spacing between the lugs is perfect. thanks again

No problem! 8-) I can tell you did some research on it beforehand. I figured the Stinger had some torque to it but it makes sense how you said it sucks too much juice. Perhaps with a gd-600 it might do good. I'm sure you'll like the lathe motor much better though. I run 87/17 gearing on mine and it rocks. Plenty of torque plus the speed is like a fast walking pace. The extra wheel speed really helps so you can punch it up some of the rocks.

Good lookin rig. I am running the same body. I notice that you cut yours off at about the same spot in the back. For some reason that seems to be the only place that rubbed on mine.

well i got the lathe in and it made a world of difference. it actualy crawls pretty good concidering it still has the cut up stock chassis. im still gonna build a new one for it thogh so i can get its full potential. and lay that pede tranny down to get the weight lower. ill post pics as soon as i finish the new chassis.

you gonna run a 32 pitch spur or something? smallest 48 pitch pinion I have seen is 12 (there could be smaller) 12/90 and 45t lathe on mine and it was slow.... much happier with the 12/87 gearing now
