Default mini lst crawler

I am preparing to build a mini lst crawler, and wanted to see if anyone else had considered it OR foresaken it as a potential crawler. It has some decent electronics and good running gear (now that i have the updated diffs) and i am going to lock up the a arms, lock the diffs, and build a crawler. The mlst uses a twin motor setup and should provide plenty of torque. Im new to the RC hobby and would like to know what i need to do to this IFS/IRS rig to make it a decent crawler. Ive even considered building my own chassis and using the mlst running gear.

thanks in advance
Rich

Install the smallest pinion and the largest spur gear you can, it still may be too fast though.

Just wanted to point out, that if you lock the a-arms, you'll pretty much have to build your own chassis.

Yeah, it seems like a lot of work for what may turn out to be only a mediocre crawler, and a waste of what seems to be a pretty fun truck as it is. Are you familiar with the Venom Mini Giant? Well, I think it is called the Leo-X now, but is a small scale (around 1:18 scale) solid axle truck that may lend itself better to a crawling setup. I say keep the Mini LST as a basher, and just start out with a truck that has more potential for modification as a crawler.

I bought the MSLT after modding and shortly after, breaking, 3 nylints. ive been going back and forth about these things in my head since i bought it. even with a decent esc, it goes from crawl to light speed in a flash. I discovered the mini giant yesterday, and it seems to be a much better candidate. I will agree that it would probably be a lot of trouble for a mediocre crawler to build up the mlst. The thing is a killer high speed machine, so I think Ill go buy a mini giant tomorrow.
