Default My WMG/LEO X 4WS Crawler's WIP

07/06/2005

Hi,
I finished my frame and I went up the unit

I have to find a means of placing the reducer flat, that reduces the gravity center by 2 cm

Click the image to open in full size.

I use 2 lipos of 3.4 v for a large profit of weight

Click the image to open in full size.

Here I have it make lightest that I could 655 gr.

The unit is not finished yet it remains to me the Cardan joints to be resoldered, to change the parts of connection of the higher bonds, to cover the bonds with tube aluminum, to make small a bumper aluminum on the front then that in I would have another nose gear I would put the unit in 4WS.

07/06/2005

Here it is done I have to turn with presently it is brilliant, it crosses the obstacle really well
Here Cardan joints cut and welded cold in an aluminum tube.

Here it is almost finished
I passed the aluminum rockets, put the axes (steamless steel) + the hexagons aluminum.

I have remake and to move the support of the reducer, to bring it closer to the transmission, what makes it possible to be able to incline more the shocks postpones (in the past) can that the frame is entirely reversed, the back is now the front to put the weight of the engine ahead possible, can that I oté for a frame way "60/40"

Click the image to open in full size.

With the passage in 4WS, I could not put the lipos any more on the bridges because that touched the crossing, look it was not good, and especially that went up the centre of gravity. I thus decided to place them at the XMods way, on both sides frame

I have to buy a servos reverser , the place being counted I placed it longitudinally, against the receiver. With the agmentation of the number of wire, the frame becomes a little tumble.

Now it turns in good better.

The front (in the past back)

The distribution of the weight forwards "60/40"

I moved the electronique one for which master key right in the cabin of the body, what enables me to drop it by 1 cm

Click the image to open in full size.

The 4 links + the back Cardan joints, one lengthened summer of 2 cm, what carries the footing to 18.3cm and the length total with 25.5cm

I recut the edges interior of the rims to keep only a colerette, then I recut a band 5mm on the interior and then restuck the rims. One cannot not cut the colerette external dů with the drawing of the rim but I use the colerette intern all the same. The pneux ones one boiled and rafters recut (only one on the photographs) for a flexibility increased.

The 4WS multiplies the possibility of trajectories

I must still make the two bumpers, to remake the 2 plates of the frame (with clean) and I think that that I would not touch there any more! has less than... for the wheels...

I am with the listening of your comments and councils. By advance Thank you

Nico14

ps: I'm sorry for my bad speaking but I'm french

How wide are the axles? I have not seen them before and they look perfect for a project.

The truck looks like fun!

He said yours is the best. He's making one as well. His chassis is being cut by laser. If you want the drawing (CAD) email him for the drawing.

That's a real good job there. Truck looks solid and fun!

The axles are about 4", hub to hub. These little rigs are a blast. They're quite under-appreciated I have just as much fun with my little VMG as I do with my 2.2s. And they're pretty stout too.

Default Vmg

I just started building one of these,www.one18th.com has a bunch of them and none of them even come close to this. You have definately built one of the best mini crawlers I have seen, congradulations. I forgot to ask, where did you get those blue steering knuckles?
