Default Sw-2 one more time!

I finally got it togather! Props to Bender!! His chassis rocks!! All the usual stuff...including the powerwagon body!! Mainly because I have a 1:1 pw! I have a few screw ups on it but I 'll get it! I some how screwed up and ended up with a 13 3/8 wb I used the traxxas 106mm turnbuckles as lowers and ended up with that wb. I figured out that I need 105mm length in the eye to eye measurement in order to get the 12.5 wb! The shocks are a major pita. I am using tmaxx shocks...they were free. Way too stiff. The lhs had one set of traxxas short springs #3758. I put them up front, works better. I cut the rear springs some but still not enough...just too stiff. I am thinking about some losi or AE rear buggy shocks. I was thinking that they are probably a little longer and I could get lighter spring rates too. Maybe this way I could get a little compression and a little bit of droop from ride height, instead of all compression. Anyone try them yet?

I got it running, opened the front door......rain!!!!!! F$%$&$&$&&$!!!!!!!! Oh well. I ran over the one rock I have....in the garage! LOL I took in the house and played with it for a while using a case of small bottled waters and box. I had to adjust the speedcontrol and tuned as much as I could on the shocks. The thing kicks a$$! Two months ago I bought a 1:6 nylint...as little web surfing landed me here. A week or two of wasting much time here I decided to build a small scale crawler and took that nylint back to walley world. I then started collecting parts and the rest is history. What little bit of run time I have with it I already like it 10 times better than the nylint!! This place rocks!!! Gotta go clean up the kitchen table...the wardon's yellin!!!

Once I fix the wheelbase I will get the body mounted. The wb is about 1in too long!

It ended up at 13 3/8 wb. I used 106mm turn buckles as lowers which gave that wb. It's been raining since yesterday afternoon when I got it running I still have some minor loose ends along with the wb problem. It is suposse to decent weather tomorrow so I will get to run it!! I have been running it in the house....up the couch and over the dog!!

Thanks guys! I would like to see or maybe even run in a comp but I don't think there is one around me. I think the closest to me in AZ. About 250+ miles.

I ran it!! Damn this thing is cool!! A few minor problems. I Think the wb is being more hurtful than helpful. Lower break over. So I am going to fix my links. I need the widers on the axle. It Flexs great but it won't use the last little bit of shock on one the corner when fully crossed up. I think the width will help. Plus it will keep the tires out of the shocks and side hill a bit better. I didn't glue the tires to the wheels!! :? It crawled good at first, then I was getting comfortable with, and trying some steep tight stuff. It started to make a wierd noise while on a super steep climb. One rear tire wasn't moving! Oh crap! I broke the diff on the first trip. Wait the rim is spinning in the tire!! I am going to shape the foams some to get more traction. The real big problem is torque twist!! Three wheeled it way more then I want to. The suspension moves smoothly but I think I need make the one rear shock stiffer. Or am I way off base with my thinking?

Try standing your shocks up more they will act stiffer and get rid of that 3 wheel action

Standing the shocks up will help with torque twist. How much clearence do you have under the chassis skid? If you raise the ride height to about 3", it'll shorten your wheelbase a little. I run mine with 3" of clearence under the chassis, with 105mm turnbuckles tighened all the way down.

Maybe you could just shorten the front links for a 60/40. Also move your tie rod above the knuckles. Better approach. Looks good.
