Scale Bronco/Comp Crawler

5 Attachment(s)
Spent last weekend building this. I had all the parts so I finally decided to get it done. It took me about 10 hours from start to finish. Not counting painting the body... That was a PITA due to the cold weather! Took it out today and scratched it up alittle. Its by far one of my favorite trucks

Specs:
TLT axles, bearings
Pede tranny, bearings, and a RPM gear cover modded to fit in the bulu!
Bulu 2
Pede rear shocks
RPM Wheels, Gen 3 rock rings, Cut G-Hawgs (they suck...)

Electronics:
Rooster
Lathe
JR 590m
1100gp 6cell pack

Ok on with the pics, and I took alot just for all you who like looking at pics rather than reading the tech :flipoff:

i feel nauseous now:? .......... looks good..... the truck.. not the blanket.......

JakeDaSnake 01-04-2006 10:26 PM

Nice rig man... I think tires look really scale, but never used a set of them... is that a 1100mah 1/18 scale pack? about how long is the runtime? I was thinkin of goin with a 1500mah Lipo pack I have for one of my old Heli's just was wondering how long it would run!

Later,
Jake

Looks good man.

If ya have a tape measure around next time your near it, could you tell me what the vertical hieght on the bulu2 chassis side plate is? Just curious for comparison to a chassis I am thinking about doing. Thanks.

JakeDaSnake: the battery lasts about 20min I would say, maybe more. Yes its a 1/18th batt

93yjpiece: off the top of my head its like 2.75 or 3 in tall.

I really like the cut on those tires, but that might have something to do with the fact I love the look of TSLs

BrandO 01-05-2006 06:05 AM

Sweet blanket, I love the texture and colors. Oh ya, the truck is pretty cool to. Looks great with those tires.

Looks great! Maybe one day I'll finish my Bronco project.

Unimoger 01-05-2006 08:52 AM

very nice work, what is that, like 4 builds for you in the last 3 months or something? wish I had that much free time.........:flipoff:

Brandon 01-05-2006 09:02 AM

haha I have one more to build! Its almost done too. Actually two more, check out the maxx forum for another one I just started. I had 3 weeks off school and the gf has given me some space. Only 4 days to go until school starts agian... must finish all projects! Too bad im at work today

PS: once you build so many of them it doesnt take long at all... Thats why I started the maxx project for something new!

elvis 01-05-2006 12:20 PM

I put the same cut on my g-hawgs for the tsl look and for the record i think they crawl fine! So do the swamp dawgs which are still my fav tire and i have a set of moabs which are awsome but very not scale. Remember real rigs can't climb 90 degree slopes fo too long.

elvis 01-05-2006 12:22 PM

Oh yeah almost forgot very sweet rig man! Two thumbs up!

Thanks for the compliments!

For the tires, They are nice, and they do crawl well, but just really cant compare to the Moabs, I guess they spoiled me. I love the swamp dawgs as well, its also one of my favorite tires.

This is one of the best setups I have seen, it's simple, clean and looks real. Props on everything man! I love this thing! I'm working on a TLT, I hope it looks half as good as yours. Nice work man, nice work!

Thanks for the very kind compliments!

Not much to update on it, I did switch to some mashers with Ofna wheels. Wider and better traction, its capabilities are night and day! Its actually that much more fun to wheel now! I also banged up the body a bit

I timed the 1100gp battery pack, crawling non stop for about 30-35min. And it acted like it had a full charge until right at the end it fell flat on its face no power at all! Perfect hehe. So I went and picked up another pack just like it but this one is a reedy matched pack, shouldnt be any difference though.
