yes everything you need is there, just get the bearing else where they are alot cheaper.

I'm gonna go to hobby town first since they are the same price as traxxas and about 2 min away.

You need the halves, the idler gear, the complete diff with planetaries, the top gear 6 ball bearings, and a slipper gear shaft.

Go to the spur gears section on buy traxxas and you can get a spur gear adapter instead of a slipper clutch (3 dollars vs 1 along with your spur and pinion

Looks like it doesn't have all the screws either. It lists the 3mmX8mm ones, but there are a bunch of other ones for hte case halves and such. I also didn't see anything for the slipper clutch or spur gear. Or the u-joints for the driveshafts. Pretty complete, but not total. I put a thread in the newbie section about pede screws and got a diagram of a complete tranny. That has EVERYTHING you need to piece your own; but it might be cheaper to just buy from in the vender section.

FYI,

You can download (pdf file) the exploded view of the Stampede tranny, with part numbers, on the Traxxas website. You can also get a full parts list and retail prices of said parts. Take a look at the box on the top right of the page...

like i said with the spur gear adapter go to spur gears on buy traxxas page, as for screws go to the LHS, or even a small hardware store or fastner store, gonna cost just bout the same ordering it through traxxas or the venders section. I'm gonna try to get everything at LHS since i'm sick of paying shipping and should have cash for this item. Oh and the driveshafts are under drive line...

Yea looks prett complete to me... just use some Dubro hardware from your LHS or order it online, and use a Sliper adapter from the older pede... its in the parts list at towerhobbies...

Later,

yeah i priced it with those prices and it came out to 49 dollars with spur gear and pinion, so locally i should be able to get it for the same cost.

Did you read the FAQ? Should have the pede tranny parts listed out. Plus there is a shop in oregon selling a pede tranny bundle.

Default Pede tranny parts list

I posted this on the FAQ thread but thought it may be useful here too:

I found a link elsewhere in the forum that listed all the parts required to build a pede tranny (minus screws). I used that list to compile my own with part numbers and prices from Tower:

Stampede Differential gear #2388(T#LXJH15): 10.99
Top shaft #1993(T#LXJJ89): 2.89
Top shaft gear #3195 (T#LXJF37): 2.89
Top Shaft Gear #3195X Hop-Up (T#LXJF3: 5.79
Long half shafts #1951 (T#LXJJ82): 5.79
Idler gear #1996 (T#LXJJ92): 2.89
Idler Gear #1996X Hop-Up (T#LXJJ94): 10.99
Idler gear shaft #3691 (T#LXJK65)(comes with transmission halves): 7.69
Yokes #4628 (T#LXJJ77) (plastic): 3.89
Yokes #4628X (T#LXJG59) (steel): 17.99
5x11 bearings (6 needed): 18.00 (2.99 ea.)
spur gear adapter #3693 (T#LXJK67): 2.89
slipper clutch set #4615 (T#LXJK87): 16.19

The number in parentheses(sp) are the tower part numbers.

The part numbers with the trailing X are used to replace the ones without the X. The manual states that you should not mix these parts i.e. If you use the 1996X part, you need to use the 4628X part.

The bearings are prices from my LHS and are actually a little more expensive than the Tower DuraTrax brand.

Hope this helps.

Ok so first off. I am no where near a LHS so does anybody have any online source for the screws?

Also with the 84/87 toothed spur gear that comes with #3693 what pinion options do I have? I have searched on tower and there are so flippin many my head is going to explode. I see peeple running something like a 12t but not 100%...

Thanks got all the #'s sitting in my wish list,lol...

I get all my screws and the local home improvement center. Do you have an Ace, Home Depot or Lowes near you?

So this is just a self tapping type screw? I also forgot I have a bunch of 3x10mm screws left over from my TLT-1 Will those work?

I used 6-32 allen screws to hold the case together. I am not sure of the length but they were approx. 1". The remaining screws were button head screws, I think they were 4-40 screws for around the perimitter of the case. You can also check out the exploded view of the trans and parts at:

Hope this helps.

Crash, good to have you on RCC, look forward to your build up(s).... if they are anything like your real(1:1) rigs then we will all be impressed and look forward to 16 pages of build-up images and tech.

The point is that all the info is out there adn has been out there. Ryan(rbgerrish) is a vendor on RCC and can be contacted via email or PM's and he can sell you a complete tranny or other tranny related items.

You'll have to build a TLT based rig, small yet goes anywhere. We normally take them on trail rides too.

Ryan is one of the coolest people around. Very helpfull and did I mention he's a Mog guy? He runs around up in your neck of the woods often with his Mog and his Mog buddies.
