tlt axles

I was wondering how did you guys install your leaf springs on the axles. Starting to do a scale build, but need to know how to mount them up.Pics would be great!

At work now, so don't have any pics. But I used the dinky leaf mounts. Found here:

Unfortunately they are currently out of stock. They are made for use with the bruiser frame, but don't see why you couldn't get them to work with other chassis.

I flipped my axles over and screwed them directly to the axles housing.

If you do that will the front axle go to the back and rear to front because you flipped them?

Rjohn929 03-12-2010 06:05 PM

nope just flip them over where they are, you're going to have to reverse the motor though.

I'll get some better ones one I get home for ya. "thumbsup"

you dont need to reverse the motor all you have to do is turn your transmission around.

Rjohn929 03-12-2010 06:45 PM

Only if you are starting from scratch or want to make a new tranny mount. Of course it all depends on what's rsiest for you. I could have turned my tranny around since its an r2 but its so much easier to reverse the motor. What can I say, I'm a little lazy.

rock-racer 03-12-2010 07:44 PM

so if i flip both axles all i need to do is reverse the motor wires?

Rjohn929 03-13-2010 06:06 PM

Thats it, piece of cake! "thumbsup"

But if you flip the axles, doesn't that throw off the rear lockouts? I mean, wouldn't they catch?

Unless you installed a straight axle mod

I originally had the axles the stock way of locking the rear steer and now I have it with the straight axle adapters. It worked fine both ways just to much play with out the adapters. You just have to shave off all the servo mount brackets and stuff to smooth it out.

Here's some more pictures.
