sorry to threadjack..but i just bought some hl ring and pinions for one of my tlt's and they are hardened steel, i have already tried regular metal drill bits, cobalt and titanium bits and only have a small dimple on the pinion to show for, i have done slow , medium and fast speed on my drill press, what other bits are harder than titanium???

as far as i know, the only difference is that the pinion's shaft on the hl is slightly longer and that the whole piece is hardened steel vs just the surface coating on the tlt part which was a breeze to drill a hole through.
