Default RCP MRC Tracks

Badger has some pictures and he can post them here. Please note that this course was designed for the inexperienced RC crawler driver, so we designed it to suit this situation. The crawlers badger built for us are awesome and can handle the terrain for this track with absolutely no problem, which we expected and wanted. We are currently building a 20' x 16' x 10' tall mountain for rcx 2006 that will have much more challenging terrain for some great rock crawling demos. www.rcx.com. Some members here and badger have offered to help design the rcx track, so we will definitely make it challenging and more suited for the crawling trucks shown at this site and competitive crawling events.

About the RCP MRC Tracks

Each modular panel has a foam core with a hard under skin to protect the foam from damage. The outer skin is made up of a polyurethane-polyurea elastomer. It is very strong and will hold up to just about anything you put on it from gasoline to house hold chemicals. In addition to its excellent abrasion and chemical resistance, the base coating will allow for 105% - 700% + stretching without adhesion loss. Basically it will hold up to almost any RC vehicle abuse you throw at it, from intense competition racing to everyday play. Each modular panel weighs approx. 25 - 30 lbs. Most of this weight is from the 1/2" thick bottom skin.

We first started building modular off road tracks for Kyosho back in 2003 and continue to create new editions each year for various trade shows. Due to the overwhelming response from our customers to reproduce our off road trade show tracks and offer them to the public, we are now currently building the molds to manufacture interlocking off road and rock climbing tracks. The off road tracks will be designed more for 1/18 scale and smaller vehicles, while the rock climbing tracks will be suited for 1/10 scale and smaller. Each modular section will have universal edges, so users can create multiple layouts using a set number of pieces. The complete system is designed to offer a variety of layouts, so clubs, hobby stores and individual users can mix up the layouts on a regular basis. With the universal edge on all modular panel, customers can start out small and add on to create much more challenging and bigger layouts.

A big thanks goes out to badger for getting these trucks built and completed in such a short period of time.

That looks like a lot of fun.

Would be great for a Vegas indoor track when it is 120 degrees outside.

The tracks look great, Let me know if you need some more help in track design. I'm one of a few guys here who wheel 1:1.(and not just some muddin either) I'd be more than happy to lend a hand.

Then you should know that the difference of the two crawling capabilities is huge. It doesn't take a professional rock crawler to design and build a nice course.

track design? who needs it? they look great for what they are intended for!

looks great badger! both the trucks and the course!

I foresee the RCX event to really spark the rc crawling interest. I think it won't be long before a major manuf. gets into the crawling game due to that show....looks like it's turning into the UROC and Supercrawl 1:1 man-made course following. Like that course fabricator said these are mild courses...can't wait to see the huge 6ft. tall 60* vertical faces that we try to scale.

I'm very impressed with the courses.

Wow, that track looks great. Better looking than I imagined when you told me about it. Out of curiosity why did you pick those rims anyways?

The rims were my call. Not the best choice, but we were pressed for time and I had a budget, so I decided to spend the money on other parts. I must admit the blue rims looked a lot better by themselves. We need many more trucks built, so we can change the rims for those.

One thing I want to point out about the track is that we designed it specifically for the inexperienced RC driver. These trucks have no problem crawling over these rocks. The track will be used for a large event where we couldn't have trucks getting stuck and tumbling every second by the beginners. This track will allow people to have fun and at the same time get a little taste of simple crawling.

For RCX we are building a much more challenging rock trail/mountain that will make some locations difficult to cross in one pass. I've accepted some generous offers from members here to help in the design, so we can get this just right for the pro crawling trucks.

RCP the detail of the track is awesome! I was expecting something a little 'cheap' looking but that looks fantastic! Yes it may be an easy course but it will also help keep the cost of broken parts down.
That setup would be perfect for XC rigs as well albeit more challenging.

I'd like to place an order for a 16x14 track with small alcove to sleep in please.

Seriously, the trucks look great and the track is awesome. Wish I could make it to RCX to see them together in action.
