Changed the link sleeves to red and took some body-off pics...

Underside link mounts at axle. Note the extended driveshaft with a 3/16" roll pin, a method I read about here. Works like a charm. Not perfectly straight, but at the speeds we're turning, it's just fine.

Stealth transmission. Pretty easy install. Drill five holes (re-used one) and milled out an opening with a Dremel.

Bottom view: Rear Links are 12mm longer, for roughly a 60/40 distribution.

Some updated pics on this forever ongoing TLT Build. Dropped in an Integy 55t lathe motor and swapped in some Duratrax TQ shock towers for a chassis...

I went from the factory 2.2" chassis spacing to about 2.75". Seems like there is actually less binding in the links with this geometry, but the dogbone axles are starting to show their limitations. The axle barely keeps from falling out at full extension and then gets pinched at full articulation, limiting travel.

Next mod has got to be Traxxas Sliders. And Blackfoot axles/wideners.

Looks real clean. Looks like you have some good improvments on it too.

Thanks guys. I ran it for a while last night and the biggest apparent difference is how light the thing is now. The yellow springs are way too stiff now. I can't keep the wheels planted. I might try adding some weights, but I'm definitely going to have to go to a lighter spring. Does anyone know if other brand springs fit these Duratrax Evader ST shocks?

Losi springs will fit. Look for some white springs, they don't make them anymore.

Loose the servo saver too.

Thanks for the info on the Losi springs. Might find some on ebay, I guess.
But I just found these extra-soft silver springs from Duratrax...

Ordering some today.

I just switched the factory servo saver in front to a huge Kimbrough, but I'm still having a hard time turning the wheels on the rocks. I think you're right. It's probably time to ditch the servo saver. The Traxxas servo was cheap anyway. With how light the rig is, I'm hoping it'll be fine.

the duratrax whites are just a hair stiffer than the losi whites, they work real good too

You're using the Duratrax whites? I just ordered the Duratrax silvers, which are supposed to be even softer, so we'll see how that goes!

I've really got to get some weights in the wheels. When I was using C-cells with 3 on the front axle and 3 on the rear, it was a little more planted. Now with just the featherweight 2/3A cells in the front, the rear axle is particularly bad at floating in the air.

Ditched the front servo saver and it's better, but still not getting the wheels to turn on some rocks. Guess I could use a higher torque servo.

Also dropped in Blackfoot axles. Definitely a lot less prone to roll over sideways now, and allows for steering dual rate to go to max and get a little more steering since it clears the shocks.

Yeah, I like the AE Stealth trans / Revo slider combos I've seen. That's next!

Oh man, I swapped the Yellow Medium springs for some Silver Extra-Soft springs and it made a huge difference! I stood the shocks up a little bit, which seemed to counteract any additional torque twist the soft springs would seem to allow, but the twist is definitely still there, particularly when I approach a steep climb with the front left tire. The front right will go in the air right along with it.

Another thing that definitely seems to be helping are the 3 oz of stick-on tire weights I added to the inside rim of each wheel. Total weight now, without the body, is right at 5 lbs (was 4.4).

Someone mentioned that I needed Sliders/CVD's, so I thought I'd update this thread with the latest drivetrain pic:

Also tried 7 cells to get some more wheel speed and I can't believe the difference! I was thinking "how much of a difference is a 17% increase in voltage going to make?". Apparently a huge difference.
Also got some Imex G-Dawgs that are definitely an entirely different experience on the rocks!
