| How loud is your pede tranny?
Mine makes a distinct clicking noise in forward only. Reverse is pretty quiet. I do run the metal idler gear, and everything is heavily greased. Not sure what the cause is, but I'll take it apart when it gives up the ghost. My losi diff I have in another truck is dead quiet (XXT tranny with hydradrive) |

The niose could be all sorts of things. Take it apart peice by piece and spin it every time you take a part off, and listen for the noise.

If my spur gear is pushed in towards the tranny it makes a noise. If I pull it out away from the tranny, it's quite quiet. |

Right now my gears make a noise. The srew for the pinion is nicking the spur gear. Can't fix it cause I lost the right allen wrench.

I'm pretty sure its the spur/slipper clutch. I'll afro-engineer a better fix next time the tranny it out.

sometimes i get wierd noises, once there was a tiny rock in my spur gear, and once i got a tiny rock in the diff in the transmission, It was hard to find, but it made the tranny smoother, and no more noise.

Do you have the bottom sealed so nothing can get inside? All the 'Pede transmissions I've used have been silent, only the motors cause the noise. Nasty motors tend to get loud. If your spur to pinion mesh is not setup right you'll also have noise. Did you setup the pinion to spur correctly? How well mantained is your motor? My FJC rig was dead quiet, until romping it through the nasty mud a few times, now the poor motor sounds like poo, although it's still quieter than most peoples junk. |

Remember to use matching pinion and spurs....meaning that if your pinion is from Robinson Racing, use a Robinson Racing spur gear too. Each manufacture has their own cut to the gears. Mixing gear manufactures can cause gear noise at speed.
