Red face Bronclod, 2nd try

Hi, after my first build-up with a used chassis I bought, now i made my own to have a more scale-look.

The axles are Clodbuster ones

WB is about 12"

the Chassis allows one or two battery packs.

In conjunjuction with the Novak EVX I can crawl or bash, by adding one batt-pack or the "power-bridge" as recommended by twisted creations.

I'd like to use the 2.2 Moabs, but here in Germany they are far to pricey...

The wheels which are mounted now were really cheap they are from a company called CEN, 4 rims: 12,95 €uro's which equals to around 15 dollars

The tires are from GRP Gandini in italy, they are soft - and cheap too

So, have a look:

with 2 battery packs

the t-maxx shocks

Not too much articulation, but hey, I've learned that articulation is nothing without good grip

o.k., now it looks more scaley, but virtually no space under the axles...
I test drove the thing yesterday and decided to put on bigger wheels again...

Let`s see how it will develop during my next test drives...

sorry, doesn't look very scale to me, tires are too small and axles are too wide. IMO.

Yeah right, but how many narrowed clodbuster axles have you seen?
I don't like to try it just to end up with a pile of tamiya trash!
On the other hand the wheels just barely rub on the body on full articulation with max. steering angle
And the tires are 2.2, which are the tires most of you guys use for these type of projects with those hpi bodys...

great pic by the way...

HPI Geolanders are good scale tires. They should be taller than what you have on there. But like you said, clods axles are pretty big so in order to get air under 'em, something like Proline Mashers would be a good way to go, but if you have trouble getting Moabs, you probably have a hard time getting mashers too.
