Default Shiny SW2 working (56K)

SW2 working good now, thanks to all the the great build up threads (especially Brad's). I noticed that many people name their trucks; I'm afraid I'm not that inventive, and usually name pets things like, "the hamster" or "blue fish". So in keeping, this one ought to be eponymously named "truck", but I'm open to suggestions (In kind of a name the baby/guess the weight type of thing).

Now before you go looking at the piccies, let me warn you that I have used my old Stampede shell on the thing (my very first spray job ever .. and it shows!). I have an HPI Rubicon all sprayed and ready to mount, but whilst building the fella I noticed more and more Rubicons, and now just don't want to put the thing on. So here it is in its glory ........ as always suggestions, comments welcome.

Dave.

Thanks for the kind words.

The 2 stick works fine in my garden, but my 4ws is just Y-cabled, which means I can't crab the thing.

I have a large pile of sandstone and slate boulders in the garden (for the rockery, when I get round to it) and it seems fine up there. I still only have the silver can TLT motor in it, but the low speed control seem OK to me (although I'm prepared to be amazed when the 55T lathe comes in!!!!).

I guess the real test will be when I take it on holiday to the coast, and get some proper crawling in.

Thanks Unimoger, You're right I have spend a stupid amount of time searching and checking out this site over the last few month (don't tell the boss!!).

Anyway, a quick update. I cut up the foams some more (star pattern 8 spikes) and glued the tires. This obvoiusly made a huge difference on my garden rock pile. I also removed some cross braces which I used to link the places where the upper shocks were mounted. I noticed binding on the battery in certain situations.
I also mounted the Rubicon, and decided I like it better than the beat up old stampede body (even if there are a heap of Rubicons out there!).

Here's the some pictures, before the body gets trashed:

Default River crossing

Ok,
Been off doing other things (like my new Trex-se), but thought I'd post a vid of when the lil' fella went on holiday with me to Wales.

Just out of interest. My ESC is waterproof. The rxer was in a balloon. Are the servo's and motor alright going through water? I have seen other people driving around through water, and was just wondering about precautions. [EDIT: OK, I've just searched on this one and have answered myself. Looks like servos and motors, and presumably batteries are good to go iin the water].

Dave.

I like the pede body better for some reason. :?

Great job on the build and doing the research along the way. How about some more specs. What ESC, gearing, and servos (I caint quite read the labels).
