Well, I have it in my hands....I'm a bit discouraged that the axels are plastic. Going to tear it down, see what's up, need to rebuild the shocks, got some gold shocks with it...I think they are old Tamiya...metal. I think some pictures are in order, and see if the fine peeps on the forum can help me out with what to do with this...

TLT axles have stood the test of time, they're pretty good quality compared to some others. The Gold shocks are stock TLT's, also pretty good quality. An easy and reversable way to lock the axle diff is to take out one of the spider gears, and place it in between the other two, that locks up the axles, quick and easy.
I've had mine for a long time and have used them in a few different builds with no problems at all.

I still have some TLT upgrades (SS straight axles, aluminum knuckles and CVDS)

First off, I want to say thank you for starting this thread. I have a brand new TLT that I bought back in 07 that I am just starting on ( life got in the way).

Sorry no pics yet, but I have pede tranny , pede wheels , and some moabs, a 55turn motor ,hitec 645, and traxxas electronics.

I am undecided on what chassis to run with, but I have lots of inspiration.

Zoso, I live in Fontana I will have to stop by your shop.

Love the tlt, bought one 5yrs ago (shoulda bought ten) for a 2.2 crawler build, thats how we did it back then, assembled it just to see it run stock, was a blast with a 27 turn. Put 2 yrs solid crawlin on axles with 0 trouble. Those axles are in my scale 4x4 now going on 3yrs , no mods, bone stock(does bearings count?). tlt axle scalers/crawlers rule!!!

Where have all the TLT's gone? I moved from Hawaii, took a 4 year break from the forum and now everyone is speaking a different language. I jumped back on to see if my TLT/J2-TT/Pede crawler needed any updating and can not believe all the changes. I think I will just keep bashing it the way it is. Luckily I bought 3 sets of Hammers but am on my final set :( .

Don't sweat it Kajo, I'm runnin tlt axles on a old school crawler store scale chassis(looks like a kinex toy builder set),the wraith crowd has a great time laughing at it. But it keeps up with modern scalers.

Well after having my Tlt sit for over 3 years I got it running again and it's still plenty capable and fun long live Tlt's.

I finally got my project back out and fixed some of the problems that I was having. Man, I love TLT axles! Now I just need to get out and crawl more.
