Cartronicshn's fj-40 build So i started this build a while ago to try and build my own chassis, i went through 3 design changes and this last attempt seems to be working really well, right now it's made of thick plexi i had laying around, i will have it cut out of aluminum when it becomes a final design. Parts list - tlt axles - r2 tranny - eritex transfer - mamba 25 - c.c. bec - tamiya fj 4o body - 3013 outrunner - hpi stock car wheels with scale shop rings - pro line flat iron - acoms 4ch reciever/radio - led light kit http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...08-10_1305.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10-10_1753.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...08-10_0856.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10-10_1757.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10-10_1803.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10-10_1804.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...10-10_1805.jpg http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...1/IMG0158A.jpg - |
I am not sure if this is to much torque twist, my links are not binding, the tranny shafts seem to have a good angle, shocks are tlt's so maybe they are to soft? short video lmk your opinions, the vid is only for start up in forward and reverse . Video as soon as photbucket is ready:roll: |
Finally "thumbsup" http://i66.photobucket.com/albums/h2...h_MOV00289.jpg <embed width="600" height="361" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowFullscreen="true" allowNetworking="all" wmode="transparent" src="http://static.photobucket.com/player.swf" flashvars="file=http%3A%2F%2Fvid66.photobucket.com %2Falbums%2Fh252%2Fcartronicshn%2FFj%252040%2520TL T-1%2FMOV00289.mp4"> |
Nice rig. It says video not found. |
|
I have no idea wtf is up with Photobucket:roll:, but anyways i found what the problem was, the hpi wheels and hexes i was using when tightened all the way down was scrubbing i only loosened the wheels maybe a 1/4 of a turn on the nut and all my problems were solved"thumbsup", i can no focus on building an interior for it. |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build 1 Attachment(s) a Little necro posting on here, just to show you guys that my tlt is still alive and well, i wil comping with it in on sunday... |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build Awesome rig! Glad to see another still being used! Did you ever finish an interior for it? |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build No........all my rigs turn into eternal builds...someday... |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build Mine too! None of my rigs are ever truly finished... just "driveable" sometimes8) |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build 1 Attachment(s) I finally dissasembled for maintance the tlt's and found no grease on them:oops:, so when putting back together i noticed play on the pinion, took it apart again and found the pinion gear is loose on its shaft, but i think they are only hard pressed?? |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build Quote:
I only run the stock ones, but I’ve never noticed any problem or looseness |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build yup i looked into a set new in bag i have and they are only press fitted? the one i am talking about comes of the shaft completely, i will try to solder or glue it somehow to have as a spare. |
Re: Cartronicshn's fj-40 build I had mine come loose - cleaned it really good, added some JBWeld and it's solid as a rock. It is fixable. |
