Aluminum Knuckles for TLT

i havent seen many (any?) posts about aluminum knuckles for the TLT, so i thought i would post about some that i found.

the only place that i could find them are from INetRC:

they are $25.00 a pair + shipping + tax. ($60.00 shipped for 4).

i was prompted to find some to replace my worn, stock plastic knuckles. also, on my rear steering, the post from the steering link to the knuckle arm is long. when the rear tires dug in, the arm on the knuckle would bend over about 15 degrees. these new knuckles should prevent that :-P

new aluminum knuckles: they are smaller in some areas than the placstic ones and they are very light. also, the holes in the arms are threaded.

new knuckles on TLT: they fit on the axle nicely. you can see that the dogbone just clears the inside of the knuckle. i am still waiting for some bearings, however, before i reassemble everything, but it looks like every thing will line up and run smoothly.

The Knuckles look like TL01 Knuckles.
I think these are a must have!

yeah those a pretty sweet lookin'....

would look real bling with a set of those chrome TLT axles...

would be sweet--- but for $110--- RIPOFF!!! if you ask me.

the $30 set looks just the same only its discontinued..... or was that $30/knuckle on the discontinued ones?

Looks like I might be late for the game, as when I went to rcMart, it shows that the aluminum knuckle for TLT has been discontinued.. Time to look for another cheap sources for those aluminum knuckles..

I mean, $60 vs. $25 is very big difference!!

why is it set up this way? why not flip the servo horn 180 degrees, facing down, and then get rid of that long connection to the knuckle arm...less leverage, less likely to bend or break....is there something i'm missing here?

From the forum, I read that the TA-05 knuckle would be the same..

Even cheaper.. $6.9 a pair.. maybe just need to order a couple of these to see if they fit fine!! (cheap enough to experiment, I guess!!)

They look the same as the TLT knuckles. At that price, it's worth a shot!

i am using a y-harness to connect the 2 servos from a single rx output. the rear servo (in the picture that you linked) needs to be reversed, so i just flipped the horn 180 degress and raised the connection off the knuckle. i know, i could just buy servo reverser for $20, but it is built.... and i decided to go with the aluminum knuckles for other reasons as well. someday, maybe i will buy a servo reverser. /shrug

howz about you flip the servo over....that will flip the servo horn...then reconnect steering link to knuckle????

doing that will not change the rotation direction of the servo motor. the horn will be at the bottom (pointing down) and the steering will be incorrect (crab steer). i would still have to flip the horn back up to allow for the proper steering rotation.

to have the horn pointing down, i would need to get a servo reverser.

alright i give up....;-)....i was trying to come up with a way for you to eliminate the tall piece off of the knuckle, to prevent it over leveraging and bending the aluminum...i know, it probably would never happen, but....

or you could switch the pos/neg wires on the servo?????
