Default Baja Honcho Rock Racer

So...I combined the cool factor of the old school Baja 500 trucks, today's hardcore rock crawling...and the new generation Rock Racers.
It seems that each RC event will start to see its fair share of a rock racing category and competition....so I got started on my Racer!
Start building your RC Rock Racers!!!!
Buy the brushless set up and get ready fo some speed. I'm thinking that this thang may even be able to hang with some of the big Maxx rigs through the desert!!!
I can't wait to see Bender's secret project Rock Racers as well.

LOL!! Fear the spinning eyeball!!

That motor is gonna shred things up! The little mamba can pack quite the whollop. I saw a buggy with the mamba 25 as the esc on 4 cell lipo. It was very fast! Not as much punch as a larger controller, but sometimes less punch is better for the traction. I think the motor was a short can 540 in the 2500kv range.

I have been eyeballing my revo roller again. A fatty outrunner bolted up would make an awesome rock racer.

I finally took my maxx today with that motor and esc you sent over. The way I have it geared right now it crawls up anything and doesn't seem to get warm. I'm actually having problems with my 2.2 crawler. I can't tell what is grinding, I need to do some more investigation into it.

I will try to take some video on Monday for ya.

I also put some of those big red rock tires on my tlt and man, that thing is ready to be a rock racer now.

Sweet! I didnt think the HHR 2810 would sweat with a bigger rig, especially with it geared low.

Bender is out testing his SW2 crawler with the brushless set up, as we type this. Hope his spur gear isn't smooth yet.

I just saw a bit on extreme 4X4 tv about the XRRA (xtreme rock racing association) and thought about doing the same thing. Just thinking what motor , gear combination would be good for a rock racer. Interested to see it when you all finish.
