| Axle/locker problem
I randomly have problems with my rear end completely binding up on me. When I dissasemble the axle I saw that the little pin I have circled in red has halfway slipped out of the center diff and is binding on the axle case. How do I prevent this? Add grease? Superglue it in? Last edited by R|M|D Photography; 10-08-2012 at 04:04 PM. |

I used to use two extra spider gears jammed into the diff as well as JB weld to hold all of that crap together...

That pin is broken then, take the diff apart and let's see what in there.

Correct, the pin is broken. Take it apart if you have to, take the broken part out, and put it back together and run it until something lets go. Been there a few times. You can jam three extra gears in there and it holds even better, but yeah, put JB Weld in there and it's solid. Tamiya must have made a killing in replacement pot metal parts. I just realized that. And their super soft metric pinion gears, those things are softer than the plastic part they mesh with. TLT talk is funny. |

| Re: Axle/locker problem Another (more legitimate, more expensive, and probably a little excessive) way to "fix" that is to replace it with an RC4WD or RCP locker... if you can still get them! I run em and love em, but would gladly run stock diffs packed with JB Weld again |

found the problem with this! lol i bought the truck a couple days ago, there were actually 2 pins in there that were broken and two of the three screws that held the diff together were almost halfway backed out, you might be able to see that 2 of the three screws in the picture are bent. |
