Default Tell me....what parts do I need?

OK, I'm going to buy some parts to make a TLT crawler. I'm going to either buy a TLT rock buster kit or just some used axles.

I just bought this stampede tranny. Do I need different gears inside it, or will it crawl good enough with a lathe motor and 9 tooth pinion?

Now, what else do I need to make the trans hookup to TLT axles? Stampede sliders? Stampede yokes? Steel or plastic?

I will make a custom frame and suspension links. Wheelbase will be around 12 inches.

What size diameter aluminum rod should I use to build the links? What ball ends would be suitable? I already have some 1/4 links made up from my clod, would those be suitable? I want them to look semi-scale, but I don't want them to break.

What's a good rim to use for the Swamp Dawg tires? Cheaper the better. bead locks would be cool too. I thought I saw some for cheap somewhere.

Thanks for answering so many questions at once!
