Raytard and Unholy get a cookie....
Revoster.. No it doesn't. When I put the internal springs in it didn't give it enough "lift" so I added the smaller outer spring to give it the extra lift it needs until I can find an internal spring that is a bit stronger.

Man this looks much better assembled. I looked at it in the FS forum and thought "Man, that's an interesting looking little thing".

I kinda figured that. In built form this will be a great runner with a low cg even if I put a stick battery on the roof, but I wouldn't do that.

Didn't get to do anything last night but might have something done for lunch. and I'll update the pics.
I purchased the wrong rims so I'm taking them back to get the correct ones so I can get them on correctly. Don't be in a hurry when buying things. I didn't even read the package, just grabed and go.

Papa roach or maybe Dilatory Roach. Any other suggestions I really hate naming things.

Should I add some flames or graphics of some sort to the panels?

I wouldn't. Just add some small logos and numbers. Make it look like it as some sponsers.

Damn nice tuber J, I like your foam cuts too, how do they work with the side wall flex?

Unimog - I don't know how the foams will work right now. I cut some similar to these for microgoat to test. Like in Jan. or Feb. But these have a bit more support. They seem to be good from what I can tell.

As far as the paint I think I'm going to put 01 on the side and make it kinda like the general lee. I'm not sure yet though.

Thanks all

Here are a couple pics with the electronics and the servo in place to show how it will fit in there. I need to make two seperate battery packs out of the stick pack I have and that will mount on the front and rear of the tuber.

Articulation with the servo. I may need to extend the wheel base about 1/2 an inch. But when the body hits the servo it is just at the end of its travel.

Manic Mango?

That looks sweet, I like the curved panels in the fenderwells.

Those foams work great, lots of sidewall support but with squishy tread.

Do you still use the ones I made you?

These foams actually only took about 10 minutes to cut all 4. I didn't make the "Pivot" under the pads because they will need to handle more weight. I did trim about 1/2 inch off the sides. For some reason the foams were bigger than the tires wasn't like that on the other tires I had. It was kinda funny though when I first put the foams in it made the tire deformed, like when you were a kid and the tube started coming out your bike tire because you left to many skid marks on the pavement.

Dilatory Crawler build has a real name now...

It will be called "General Crawler" the name was given to it by it's new owner - RustyCrawler.

It will be receiving an "01" on the sides and the front will read GENERAL on it.

Incase anyone was wanting to know what DILATORY (wich I misspelt on the title) means.

dil•a•to•ry
adj.

1: inclined to waste time and lag behind [syn: laggard]
2: wasting time [syn: laggard, poky, pokey] 3: using cautious slow strategy to wear down opposition; avoiding direct confrontation; "a fabian policy" [syn: fabian]

dil•a•to•ry
adj.
1. Intended to delay.
2. Tending to postpone or delay: dilatory in his work habits. See Synonyms at slow.

Just thought I would let you know.
I was looking for wideners and had a hard time getting the blackfoot ones around here and found another option. I used associateds 3/16" axle stubs. I worked great. I'll have pics soon of all the updates on this thing.

For info on the axle stubs I posted how to make it work in the sticky at the top.

I knew what it meant

I still use those foams, don't have a lot of choice with 'em glued inside the tires

There is one thing bugging me about this rig. Why is there one screw that isn't powdercoated like the rest?
